I suffered from infertility for 8 years with chronic headaches for about 6 months. I became severely anxious and depressed and I didn’t sleep well. I couldn’t do anything and I couldn’t tend to my family. It was difficult doing everyday tasks. I was devastated about the headaches and I went to a specialist and had an MRI. He told me that I had a pseudo-tumor, when I didn’t. I then went to a neurologist who prescribed seizure medications for my condition.

The medications gave me more anxiety. I felt absent minded like I was not present and out of control. For the infertility and habitual miscarriages, I went to reproductive specialists. I was placed on 2 cycles of Clomid trying to get pregnant. The doctors did not know what was wrong and they couldn’t pinpoint it. I felt I was out of options and I prayed about finding treatment. I hoped to get better and to be able to be myself again and go back to living my life. And with how my family and friends saw me, they were willing to try anything.

Before I called in to the Natural Medicine Center to schedule an appointment, I was so depressed. I had given up on life and on my family. I didn’t know how to continue on living. I prayed to God and asked Him to help show me a sign – anything. I picked up my sister’s laptop and looked up acupuncture. Out of all of the different places that popped up on the internet, the Natural Medicine Center was the clinic that I called.

I spoke with the front receptionist, Sarah. She shared with me about how she had similar situations and how the doctor helped her. Speaking to her gave me the hope that I didn’t feel was there before. I came in the very next day for a consultation in March of 2008. When I went in and spoke with Dr. Huang – he was so welcoming and confident that natural medicine could help me. I felt safe and was very happy. I began getting acupuncture treatments, taking herbal medicine and following nutrition guidelines.

Within a week or two, there was a definite difference. The headaches improved and I started sleeping better. I was able to work when it was difficult before. It was like a light was turned on out of the darkness. I was able to smile and take care of my family. I was able to do normal things again. I felt that I could take on my life again. I am now 17 weeks pregnant and the baby is healthy. I feel great about the results! I would have never thought that I would be able to have my life back and now I can give life.

Making that phone call, talking to Sarah and coming to the clinic helped save my life. Everyone is very nice and very attentive. They are attentive and uplifting.  I felt safe and that meant a lot to me. The clinic is really clean and really friendly. There are two safe places that I go to – my mother’s and this clinic. I feel that everyone at Natural Medicine Center really care about me. 

I can’t say that I was a believer in natural medicine because I had acupuncture at another clinic before and it didn’t help. But now I am a firm believer, and I would use natural medicine before modern medicine. I refer anyone I talk to and tell them about my experience and tell them how it worked for me. I am really thankful that I found this place. It is always very welcoming and it is my safe haven!

I didn’t know how to put the part of my role in this testimonial, but Cindy wanted me to put it in. She told me that speaking to me gave her hope that before she didn’t feel was there.
