I was diagnosed with psoriasis 10 years ago. It started on my arms and private areas and then all over my body. I did not know what it was at first. The psoriasis got me real bad and it affected my self esteem. I felt sad and worried that if it got worse, what am I going to do? I went to the medical doctor but they did not help me or have an answer for my condition. I always heard “I don’t know” from them, so how can I know their medication works. They told me that it will never go away, and they gave me creams. I was under their treatment for 10 years with no results. It was the same and would always come back.
I also suffered from ankle pain and shoulder pain for about 2 years. My shoulders were very painful, and the pain traveled down to my arms. The shoulders would bother me when I moved and when gardening, it was painful. The medical doctor told me that it was my bra strap, so I stopped wearing a bra but the pain was still there. I felt very sad and uncomfortable and I didn’t feel like socializing.
On May 26, 2004, I walked by the Natural Medicine Center and read the windows. I liked the clinic, and I had a good feeling. I began treatments with acupuncture, herbal medicine and nutrition guidelines. I was optimistic at first, and when I started to feel better, I thought that it might just work. I believe in herbs and natural things, and I grew up with natural stuff.
After 2 months, the shoulder pain went away and the ankles too. I have an improved quality of life and feel better about myself. The psoriasis is under control, I sleep better, my bowel movements are better, and I lost weight. I feel good and I am happy with the results.
