Fibromyalgia and Depression

I suffered from fibromyalgia since August, 2004. I had constant pain in my shoulders and hands. I felt weak and had no energy. I also suffered from asthma since I was a baby and I was a sick child. I was not sleeping well and felt extremely tired and fatigued. This limited me in everything and I was extremely depressed and short tempered. I missed a lot of work and the pain kept me from exercising.

I went to the medical doctors and did a lot of tests. I felt upset because the doctors said that fibromyalgia doesn’t have a cure. I thought that I was going to be in pain forever. I was prescribed a lot of pharmaceutical drugs and narcotics, such as Neurontin, Darvocet, Keflex, Ambien, Zoloft, Advair, and Albuterol. I was also seeing a neurologist and a rheumatologist. The drugs made me very sleepy and “drugged”, and it didn’t work well. Nobody could help the pain. Even with the narcotics, the pain didn’t go away, plus I was taking a lot of pills.

In October of 2005, my mom brought me to the Natural Medicine Center. I was looking for anything that would help relieve the pain and I was hoping to get better. All my friends were very supportive and curious. When I first came here, it was a very good first impression. The clinic is clean, friendly and well put together. I began with acupuncture treatments and dietary guidelines, and I took herbal medicine.

After the first visit, the pain in my arms started subsiding instantly. I felt better immediately and I was able to decrease so much of my drugs – from taking pain medications everyday to once or twice a week. Now I am able to have a social life and my mood is much better, which is good for all my relationships, especially my marriage. My diet is better and I lost weight (10 pounds). I have increased energy and a much better quality of life. I am a lot happier, and I have no more anxiety and depression. I just feel better all the way around and overall there was an uplifting of my spirit.

The staff is very professional yet personal at the same time. I truly feel that Dr. Huang cares about my well-being and I am treated like a person and not just a patient. I thank God for the Natural Medicine Center staff and their mission. I praise Jesus for allowing Dr. Huang and Dr. Yeh to share their gifts as well as witness to the patients. I love it here. I am extremely happy with the results which exceeded my expectations. I have referred many people and encourage others to try it. Natural medicine works and I believe that it is the way to get your body truly healthy.
