For 3 years, I suffered from high cholesterol. I was very upset when I found out because I have always lived a healthy life, but I wasn’t surprised because it runs in the family. One year ago, I started on the drug medication Lipitor. It made my stomach hurt so I changed to Crestor. I didn’t want to go on medication and was upset that I had to take them. I took them was because I was afraid of having heart problems in the future. There were no results from the drugs, and it had side effects.
For 2-3 years, I also suffered from hormonal imbalances and night sweats. My emotions were up and down. I was on 3 months of medications for my hormones, but I stopped taking it because it did not help me. I had no energy, which limited me in school and other aspects of my life.
On April 16, 2004, I came to Natural Medicine Center. In Oregon I received acupuncture treatments for sinus problems and it worked well. I hoped that it would work for my hormones and cholesterol, and I that would get better. My mom and daughter were skeptical but my boyfriend was very supportive. I was given acupuncture and herbal medicine. The acupuncture was not painful - it was relaxing, and the herbal teas were fine.
A month after the treatments, I had more energy and my hormonal system was much better. After 4 months of treatment, my cholesterol is normal at 156 – confirmed by blood work on July 23, 2004. My cholesterol was at 284 on March 12, 2004. I feel better, and I am able to do more things because my energy is up. I also lost weight.
I am extremely happy about the results and I am letting everybody know my cholesterol is normal. My friends and family are all very happy for me and my mom is relieved. I have referred a lot of people to the Natural Medicine Center. I feel at home and very welcomed, and the Christian environment is very peaceful. The staff is helpful and nice. The medical staff is full of energy and very knowledgeable. I am a big believer on herbs now – more than before because I didn’t expect these results that quickly.
