My Name is Austin. I am 19 years old and I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2006 when I was 12 years old. Ulcerative Colitis (UC) is an Auto-Immune Disease that attacks the colon and causes severe diarrhea and bleeding.

My Mom and Dad took me to many specialist doctors and all of them said that there is no cure for UC and they all wanted get me on Drugs! One doctor even recommended to have my colon removed. Yes – at 12 years old.

After my colonoscopy and diagnosis I ended up on medical steroids. The side effects of steroids are horrible (Major Face Swelling, acne, weight gain, etc..) We were not satisfied with what the doctors were saying and doing. We prayed and asked God to help us find a treatment. We found Dr. Kevin Huang and The Natural Medicine Center: Praise God for them!

My Dad saw an article in the paper for Natural Medicine and made an appointment for me to see Dr. Huang. When I first arrived I was miserable and was sick of seeing doctors and just wanted to be healthy again. When we sat down with Dr. Huang and he laid out a plan to get me back on track. I started doing acupuncture and taking herbs and had to fully change my diet. I knew it was going to be hard but in the end it was all going to be worth it.
