In January 2010, I was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cyst. I was devastated and very depressed. My husband had passed away from cancer in April 2009. All I could think about was my children. It didn’t affect my life except for the abdominal pain on the left side – I worried a lot. I went to the doctor and he did an ultrasound and he didn’t find anything. I got a second opinion and he did a CAT Scan and that’s when they found the cyst. I didn’t receive treatment - only medication for the pain, but I did not take any. I had a consultation for surgery but it was not recommended because the cyst was small. I was told just to have it checked every year.

On September 9, 2011, I started getting treatment – to get rid of the cyst and to be as healthy as I can be for my children. My family and friends were very supportive.
