Stepping into Agape Acupuncture for the first time, the thing that struck me the most was the beauty of the clinic. Then, the friendly staff greeted me and brought me in for my first treatment. That was two years ago and I have been going in for acupuncture treatments ever since. When I first came in to the clinic, I had just finished a battle with Leukemia (AML with a FLT 3 mutation) and had to undergo three rounds of chemo and two bone marrow transplants because the first one had failed. 

I still remember when the doctor said I’d have only two months to live. As a result of all this strain on my body, I came out cancer free, but with chronic graft vs host disease. I had low platelets which resulted in constant bloody noses that were pretty annoying to deal with on a day to day basis. To deal with this, my doctors required me to get weekly platelet infusions just to keep my platelets around 20 which is still very low. I also had a damaged liver and my overall facial complexion was much darker than normal. 

After coming to Dr. Huang, for treatment, my platelets, liver enzyme levels, and complexion have all gotten better, confirmed by doctor, blood work and lab results. I have definitely been able to enjoy life much more because of this. When I first got here, I constantly worried about the next time I’d get a bloody nose out of nowhere because they took a while to stop or if my facial complexion looked fine. Now, I feel much more relaxed about my nose and facial complexion since they have both recovered close to normal, which makes me excited for the future. I haven’t even had to get a platelet infusion in a very long time!
