HOW IS CHRONIC LYME DISEASE TREATED WITH ACUPUNCTURE?
CHRONIC LYME DISEASE
Lyme disease is a bacterial infection that is acquired by an infected tick bite that carries the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi. In most cases, Lyme disease can be cured within 2-4 weeks with oral antibiotic treatments if diagnosed in the early stage. However, chronic Lyme disease is when an individual still experiences a persistent ongoing symptom for more than six months after completing their antibiotic therapy treatment. Chronic Lyme disease also affects the cognitive function and produce musculoskeletal pain that lasts for months or even years.
CHRONIC LYME DISEASE SYMPTOMS
Chronic Lyme disease has similar symptoms as the early stage of Lyme disease but with a lingering effect. They often experience severe fatigue, headaches, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, restless sleep, neck stiffness, numbness, or tingle in the hands or feet, joints or muscle aches, and pain or inflammation in the knee and other large joints. Chronic Lyme disease affects the cognitive function by decreasing their short-term memories and difficulty with speech and concentration.

TREATMENT OF CHRONIC LYME DISEASE
There is no cure for chronic Lyme disease. According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), studies have shown no beneficial effect in treating chronic Lyme disease symptoms with prolonged antibiotic therapy. It has proven that long-term antibiotics for chronic Lyme disease are dangerous. It can cause severe impairment in the individual overall physical health and quality of life.

The first month of acupuncture was stressful she did seem to get a little worse for the first couple weeks so I brought my daughter a little bit more frequently it was after about 2 months we started seeing improvement and by month 7 months she was just doing so much better. She isn't 100% yet but I would say probably 80% there.

Compassionate is an understatement when I talk about Doctor Kevin!!
When I found dr. Kevin I was absolutely desperate. My daughter at 13 years old was no longer living a life a 13 year old should live. She no longer could show up to school, participate in gymnastics, she didn't want to have friends over because she was so afraid of how she would feel she didn't want to go to friends houses because she was so afraid of how she would feel. It completely broke my heart. To see my daughter who was so social all of a sudden want to do nothing or couldn't do anything I guess is a better word.
I was desperately searching the internet for anything for mold toxicity and Lyme disease and came across Agape Acupuncture. (Such a God thing)
I tried so many other things! I have a phenomenal modern medicine doctor who completely thinks outside the box, I have an incredible chiropractor that does up & beyond what I've ever seen with a holistic doctor and I've seen many other amazing people to help support my daughter.
But still her energy level was so low and she would always just say she felt "icky" and she looked sick. She had dark circles under her eyes no energy to jump around the house anymore no flips and tricks on the trampoline. It seemed every food she would eat would make her cheek swell up we did not know it what to feed her. We already ate extremely healthy about 80 90% organic gluten-free and amazing supplements.

Before coming to Agape Acupuncture, my daughter suffered severely from chronic Lyme Disease and all its multiple infections. We had tried just about every form of traditional, modern medical treatment (CDC approved) antibiotics and natural medicine we could afford. We had some results with natural medicine, but no relief from the intense physical pain that she was going through.
She suffered greatly from unexplainable and unusual symptoms that led to her disease progressing-causing extreme anxiety, fear, OCD, tremors and pain. She really didn't want to try one more treatment that lasted hours or herbs that tasted horrible or would leave her feeling so weak that she couldn't hold her head up or do her school work.
