In November 2011, my blood pressure was high and that’s when it wasdiscovered that I had Hepatitis C. I was depressed when I learned of the diagnosis. Both of my legs were swollen and I had weight loss of 40 lbs. My liver enzymes were elevated and my blood count was down. I was missing a lot of work, had no energy, and was sleepy all the time. My job required heavy lifting and I had no strength to do my job the way I used to. I was on Interferon treatment and had too many side effects. I was lightheaded and couldn’t taste anything. The drug medications took away my appetite – it was terrible. My condition was getting worst.
