For many years, I suffered from GERD (Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease) with pain and burning in the stomach. Coffee and tea would hurt my stomach. In June 2011, I was diagnosed with MALT Lymphoma (Mucosa-Associated Lymphoid Tissues Lymphoma). I could not believe it but I had to do everything I could, I am a RN (Registered Nurse) and I was still working, but this affected my work psychologically. I had to watch what I ate and I used diet supplements. My MD prescribed antibiotic treatment for H. Pylori for two weeks. I also used homeopathic remedies. In September 2011, I had an ultrasound and was recommended to have chemotherapy but I refused. After the prescribed treatments, there were some improvements shown through Endoscopy but the pathology was the same.
When you are diagnosed with something like this and trying everything, you are desperate. I began to research natural medicine, found the Natural Medicine Center on the internet and I tried it. On July 9, 2011, I began treatments of acupuncture, herbal medicine and nutrition. My expectation was to heal myself and to continue and follow-up with the Endoscopy to see progress. In July, 2006, I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. It was completely unexpected. On August 8, 2006 I had surgery to have a mass by the left groin removed. I had low energy and my left leg was swollen from the surgery. The medical doctors prescribed Prednisone, a corticosteroid drug medication, and my chemotherapy was scheduled for September, 2006.
On September 11, 2006, I came to the Natural Medicine Center. I wanted to go natural before starting chemotherapy, so that all the side effects from chemo would be minimized. I knew that coming here first would help support me through chemotherapy and I believed in natural medicine. I began acupuncture treatments, herbal medicine, and following nutritional and dietary guidelines.
