I am 89 years old, and I suffered ten years with trigeminal neuralgia on my lower left jaw. Trigeminal neuralgia has affected my personal life; I couldn't eat, chew, swallow, or speak. I would feel pain on my face all day, every day. It was so painful that I couldn't brush my teeth or sleep.
My primary physician said it was typical for people my age to have trigeminal neuralgia and prescribed Carbamazepine to reduce grinding and pain. I took two 100 mg tablets three times a day, but it didn't help much. Then it was increased to 300 mg, but it got worse over time. I was also on painkiller and steroid shots, but that only gave me temporary relief. I stopped taking the medication after two months because it made me sleepy, forgetful, and I lost weight.
When I had my ankle injury examined, my podiatrist recommended I try acupuncture. My daughter searched the internet and found Agape Natural Health. My name is M.R I am a pharmacist and my husband is a physician. I have had Trigeminal Neuralgia (on the right side of my face) for the past 2 years. In January 2017, I went to see a neurosurgeon, went through MRI and was diagnosed with TN. He gave me several options including open surgery from the back of my skull, and this freaked me out. I was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia on my lower left jaw in January 2017, It was the most painful thing I have ever felt to a point that I can’t talk, eat and brush my teeth. The pain started back in December 2016, at first I thought it was a toothache coming from tooth crown.
