When I was in Kindergarten, my parents noticed my face and legs swell up from water retention. After visiting a doctor, they said I had childhood onset, minimal change nephrotic syndrome.

My mom, being the research-warrior that she is, decided to take me to Agape Natural Health, and commit to a natural medicine regime: very limited sugar and salt in my foods, juicing and clean foods, plus acupuncture and herbs. I was young and couldn’t swallow the herbs yet, so we got creative and ground them up with a mortar and pistol and mixed them into applesauce.

I have been struggling with Systemic Sclerosis, also known as scleroderma, GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease), Anxiety, and Stress for about three years now. I was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia on my lower left jaw in January 2017, It was the most painful thing I have ever felt to a point that I can’t talk, eat and brush my teeth. The pain started back in December 2016, at first I thought it was a toothache coming from tooth crown.  After numerous visits to my dentist and from dental x-ray they couldn’t find anything wrong with my tooth. In January 2017, I went to see a neurosurgeon, went through MRI and was diagnosed with TN. He gave me several options including open surgery from the back of my skull, and this freaked me out. I went home to think this surgery option through with my wife, and luckily, my wife found this alternative option through acupuncture. I have never been to acupuncture session before in my life but this time I thought I would give it a try.

I have had severe migraines for over 19 years, which started when I was 10 years old. My migraines came frequently and I have suffered so much pain for all those years. Every time I would have my migraine attack my left eye would hurt so bad, unbearably, and I would keep on vomiting for days which would sometimes make me dehydrated. Most doctors of course prescribed the usual medications, saying that there is no cure, only pain management, and most recently I have had to make several trip to urgent care.

Trying to trace the “triggers” of my migraines has been nearly impossible. When I am outside in the hot weather, my migraine comes, when inside the house with cool temperature my migraine comes. In the mall, in the theater, at church attending mass my migraine would come.

I feel as though I have died a thousand times in pain from these migraines. They have been so debilitating, causing me to have to lock myself in a dark and quiet room, and yet still having so much pain and constantly vomiting. I am a naturally active and hard working person and so this illness also causes me to suffer from depression as it restricts most aspects of my activities.

A few months ago a friend of mine suggested that I try acupuncture as it is able to treat many illnesses. Although we were somewhat skeptical my husband and I began a search to find an acupuncturist that we were comfortable with when we came across Dr. Huang’s Natural Medicine website in July of 2012, and were impressed, and made an appointment right away.

When I first started seeing Dr. Huang he advised me to change some of my habits, such as diet, which I have done, also put me on herbal medications and of course began my acupuncture. Thank God we were lead to seek natural healing. Not only have my migraines been nearly eliminated, my overall general health, as well as my sleeping habits and general mood have all improved dramatically. I suffered from a rash on the stomach, which was red in color. There was itching and I was worried about the rash. I used an “over the counter” anti-itch cream to temporary relieve the itch for rash for short term. I wasn’t satisfied with the cream because it didn’t fix the issue in the long term. I also had shoulder and neck pains and stiffness, which occurred in the past that kept me from looking while driving and I had chiropractor care.

I was looking for treatment for my conditions, and a friend, who was a patient at Agape Acupuncture, recommended all-natural. He referred acupuncture so he wouldn’t have to get drug medications. I was looking for a cure for my conditions, was curious and I hoped it would work because it was natural. I started with acupuncture and herbs. Ease fear of needles - the treatments were easy and comfortable.

The rash was better after a few sessions. There were no more worries about rash, at ease about neck and shoulder. Everything is back to normal with everyday life and doing things. Our 4 years old son started having stomach pains. We went to a doctor and was given antibiotics for a week. When the pain did not go away, we did x-ray and ultrasound. Within the next two treatments, I noticed that I wasn’t experiencing migraines as frequently. Before I knew it, a few months passed, and no more migraines. Life without migraines has been so wonderful! I am so blessed that God has placed me under the care of Doctor Kevin!

For 16 years, I suffered from fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and chronic muscle, joint and nerve pain. I also had severe migraines. 6 months ago, it was discovered that I had spinal problems and the doctor wanted to put a screw between my vertebrae and my nerves would be severed. I had muscle spasms and restricted movement, and I was always extra careful on everything that required movement. I could not exercise.

I was on a lot of drug medications and I tried a lot of medications prescribed by my primary physician, my neurologist, and the orthopedic doctor. I took drug medications like it was candy. Since 2004, I have had severe pain in my hip. I went to different physical therapists. I took drug medications from my MD, which caused stomach irritations. I wanted to heal and so I tried many doctors and in 5 years nothing helped. The pain started on the left side of my hip and the same pain went all the way to my leg. During this time, the pain began to travel upward to my neck and head, which made it difficult for me to move my neck. This pain affected everything. My marriage and my husband were also being affected. One day in school, we needed to call the paramedics because the same pain affected me from walking and breathing. I was very sick and was on Ibuprofen all the time. I changed doctors and they gave me drugs for fibromyalgia and epilepsy. I got scared of these medications because I knew that I didn’t have that sickness. There were no results and the same pain was still there. I decided to go to the Natural Medicine Center and my aunt, Teresa Ramirez, recommended me.

I began acupuncture treatments, herbal medicine, and following diet and nutrition guidelines. There is no pain and it worked really fast. Since the first treatment the pain was less. I came to Natural Medicine Center on January 7, 2011. My expectations were pretty low and I was skeptical. I did not have much hope, but my friends and family were supportive. For 20 years, I suffered with migraine headaches. The migraines were every month, lasting 3 days like clock work. It was awful because I knew what was coming. I suffered from trigeminal neuralgia and headaches on and off for over 5 years. I knew there wasn’t a cure. It began because my body was weakened and stressed. I had been treated for cancer 14 years ago and had surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, which contributed to the weakening of my body.
