When I was in Kindergarten, my parents noticed my face and legs swell up from water retention. After visiting a doctor, they said I had childhood onset, minimal change nephrotic syndrome.

My mom, being the research-warrior that she is, decided to take me to Agape Natural Health, and commit to a natural medicine regime: very limited sugar and salt in my foods, juicing and clean foods, plus acupuncture and herbs. I was young and couldn’t swallow the herbs yet, so we got creative and ground them up with a mortar and pistol and mixed them into applesauce.

I have been struggling with Systemic Sclerosis, also known as scleroderma, GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease), Anxiety, and Stress for about three years now. For 14 years I’ve had migraines and headaches, and it worsened over time. I had insomnia, neck pain and stiffness, pressure on my chest and I could not breathe. I could not eat and was vomiting. Any loud noise hurt my head and I had irritability all the time. I had to quit school and could not go to family gatherings. I was unable to perform activities I once used to and unable to exercise as often as before. The migraines totally took over my life and affected every part of my life. CROHN’S DISEASE | My Son's Story

“Once natural medicine began, he started to improve day by day and within weeks he had gained back all the weight he had lost (30-35 lbs)! In January 2009, my son began to vomit all meals and began to have stomach aches and pains. He was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease in March 2009. I never even knew what Crohn’s Disease was. I was shocked anyone in my family even had a disease. We were always so healthy. No one in our family was ever sick from anything before this, but that was always because my mom (his grandmother) always fed the family fresh organic foods and plenty or vitamins. When he started getting stomach aches, I always noticed at dinner time when he would stop mid-meal, not move, and trying to will away his stomach pain. He became increasingly unable to eat. He ate less and less and less. He was increasingly angry and short-tempered. This illness not only limited his food but it affected his relationship with the family negatively. The Intestinal Doctor says he would have this disease for the rest of his life and be on these drugs for years; that there was no cure but we could manage the disease.

My son was so sick and because he’d lost so much weight, he looked malnourished. He started taking the steroids and that decreased the inflammation in his small intestine and he was so happy that he could eat, that he sat down and ate raw vegetables but then he saw the pizza everyone else was eating. He had been so famished that he dove right into the pizza and that night he suffered from the worst most severe stomachache he had ever had! We rushed him to the hospital where they diagnosed him with a bowel obstruction. His small intestines had inflamed and completely shut down. So they put him on a much greater dosage of steroids and morphine for the pain. After the hospital increased his dosage, his legs became so weak that he went down in P.E. It scared the doctor so bad that he weaned him off of them 10 mg/day until he was at zero. We wouldn’t do their treatments. We just went there to get diagnosed but it took so long he lost 15 lbs. Once he gave in to take their drugs, he ate like a starving person and ended up in the hospital with a bowel obstruction.

Once released from the hospital we came to see Dr. Huang at Agape Acupuncture where he had acupuncture 3 times a week, took herbal supplements and changed his diet. He cut out all processed foods, ate more healthy and began to gain his weight back. He became a happy boy. We weaned him off the steroids and other medicine that modern medicine told us he’d be on for years. They even wanted to put him on Leukemia medication and I didn’t want to destroy his liver by medicating his intestines that way. They’re knowledgeable, helpful, kind, always smiling and non-judgmental. I wasn’t sure what to expect because modern medicine said there was no cure but that was because they didn’t know what caused it. I just knew that Dr. Kevin Huang would know what to do and what to tell us and that his “only” chance, besides praying 24-7, was coming to natural medicine and be treated.

I feel 1000% happy! I wish I could talk to thousands of other Crohn’s patient mothers. I would refer everyone who has a “supposed” disease because it works and I have referred dozens of people. It’s very important to give the thanks and the glory to God because it was truly Him who healed him. Natural Medicine was the vessel.

About 10 years ago, an injury to my back brought on peripheral neuropathy. There was damage to the nerve (L5-S1) and lab tests confirmed these findings. I have always been very athletic and this numbness in my feet was very debilitating. From 2002-2009, I sought various therapies in Atlanta and California. I tried injections, physical therapy, acupuncture, chiropractor, and different drugs before coming to Natural Medicine --- all with no change. I couldn’t walk barefoot or wear nice shoes. I couldn’t run or do exercise on my feet for long. And for years, I couldn’t sleep on my right side or back.

I suffered from fibromyalgia for over 7 years, and I was diagnosed with heel spurs 3½ years ago. It started on my heels and then it went to my hip. This condition affected every aspect of my life. It made me tired and made it difficult to care for a child and keep up the household. The pain and fatigue affected my work and socializing with friends and family. The pain was too much and I could not walk. I was tired all the time.

I went to the medical doctors and they did nerve testing and x-rays. They found large heel spurs on my left and right foot. They gave me cortisone shots which ultimately did not help me and I was in pain and had difficulty walking. There were no results from the cortisone shots.

On June 23, 2006, I came to the Agape Acupuncture, Inc. with the encouragement of my sister. I was interested in learning about natural medicine, but I have never tried it. I wanted to be alleviated of the constant pain and I hoped to be able to walk normally again without pain. I began receiving acupuncture treatments and taking herbal medicine.

Since 2004, I have had severe pain in my hip. I went to different physical therapists. I took drug medications from my MD, which caused stomach irritations. I wanted to heal and so I tried many doctors and in 5 years nothing helped. The pain started on the left side of my hip and the same pain went all the way to my leg. During this time, the pain began to travel upward to my neck and head, which made it difficult for me to move my neck. This pain affected everything. My marriage and my husband were also being affected. One day in school, we needed to call the paramedics because the same pain affected me from walking and breathing. I was very sick and was on Ibuprofen all the time. I changed doctors and they gave me drugs for fibromyalgia and epilepsy. I got scared of these medications because I knew that I didn’t have that sickness. There were no results and the same pain was still there. I decided to go to the Natural Medicine Center and my aunt, Teresa Ramirez, recommended me.

It is with great privilege that I can write this letter in support of Dr. Huang and the entire staff at Natural Medicine. I was referred to Dr. Huang by two other people that had found relief and success for their ailments through Dr. Huang’s caring and Christlike therapeutic use of acupuncture and herbs.

At the time that I came to Dr. Huang approximately 9 months ago, my 3 year old son had been recently diagnosed with ADHD- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.  I came to Dr. Huang after at least a year long struggle with his behavior which caused major disruption in our household and for him at pre-school, I was at a point of deep desperation, and had only hoped for minimal positive effects. I knew that I did not want to put my toddler son on traditional medications, so I knew that alternative medicine would be the route of choice for me.

Within a few months I noticed a drastic change in his behavior, along with his preschool teacher. With Dr. Huang’s recommendation of diet change and the use of acupuncture and herbs I truly have a different child behaviorally, and a child that can focus in class, with the same loving personality that would have been altered using traditional medication. I cannot say enough to the value of Dr. Huang’s work with my son. If I could campaign to all parents that are struggling with children with these types of disorders, I would. I believe with all of my being that if it wasn’t for Dr. Huang and his staff, my son would be at a continuing decline.

God gave me a divine appointment with Agape Acupuncture!  I was visiting family in the OC area for two weeks after needing a break from the war in my country, Israel. When I came to Dr. Huang and the team at Agape Acupuncture, I was only looking for an herbal pharmacy where I could buy an herbal tincture that was helping me to keep a recurring throat infection from taking over my health. After multiple ineffective rounds of antibiotics, the infection was still present in a weaker state in my body, waiting to take over and make me sick. While it was not curing the infection, the tincture was helping to keep me functioning, especially with all the stress I was under.

After my initial consultation, Dr. Huang diagnosed me with multiple bacterial and viral infections, which he believed could be healed with a combination of herbs and acupuncture.  After my first acupuncture treatment, I felt a surge of energy and healing in my body! I was shocked! After the third treatment, I felt a bit of the symptoms return, but the difference is that my body was now able to fight them on its own. After six treatments, I was completely healed! I suffered from depression for years caused by a hypothyroid problem.  I was on a lot of medications and tried everything including the drug Prozac from my doctor. I was sluggish and was in a negative state of mind. I couldn’t function at work with a good attitude. I knew that coming back to Agape Acupuncture would help me. I knew it would work. I had been there before and was a firm believer in natural medicine.

I came back in October 2015 and received acupuncture, herbs and ate correct foods and diet. I immediately felt better and had a better sense of well-being.  One acupuncture treatment helped out with the depression. After coming to get acupuncture, I feel excited and positive about life.
