Our journey with Parry-Romberg syndrome, an autoimmune condition, with Scleroderma, Linear Morphea, and Vitiligo, began with the first symptoms appearing in 2018 in my child at the age of 7. As a parent, witnessing my child’s health challenges was a heart-wrenching experience.
Finding effective treatment for our child became our top priority. At a young age of 9, on July 16, 2020, we discovered Agape Natural Health in Newport Beach, California, and embarked on a transformative medical journey under the care of Dr. Huang at Agape Natural Health. Their expertise in acupuncture, coupled with herbal supplements tailored to my child’s needs, offered hope during uncertainty.
Symptoms were first noted 2 years prior around age of 7, initially appearing as white color changes on the forehead or vitiligo. Despite undergoing treatment with another doctor without any improvement for vitiligo, over time, our child developed the left side of the face develop atrophy which was later diagnosed as scleroderma.
We were devastated and saddened by this horrible situation.
God led us to Dr. Huang at Agape Natural Health because we saw many testimonials and their clinic using natural health specializes in auto-immune and immune conditions with a lot of encouraging testimonials.
After our initial consultation with Dr. Huang, our family decided to start treatments at the age of 9 on July 16, 2020 with Agape Natural Health. Acupuncture every week and Herbs everyday were prescribed by Dr. Huang.
In September 2020, a follow-up with a medical doctor explained to us that Sophia’s condition is an autoimmune condition. There is damage caused by inflammation that leads to atrophy of tissue and fibrosis, disfiguring the face. It was highly advisable for Sophia to initiate standard care for localized scleroderma with weekly injectable medication, accompanied by another medication the day after. Additionally, there are protocols for active disease utilizing high-dose of medications for weeks. In another follow up in 2021, the medical doctor also was worried about risk of serious eye damage and serious neurological damage due to this autoimmune condition.
The doctor explained the benefits and risks involved in utilizing immunosuppressive medications to treat scleroderma. However, our family was reluctant to start the medications and would like to continue with Agape Natural Health for a few months first and then follow-up.
Over the next 3 years into September 2023, our child’s condition remained very stable and growing as a healthy, active, normal child with great quality of life. We continued to go to Agape Natural Health weekly for acupuncture and taking herbs while being monitored by the all the doctors for over 3 years without taking any of the immune suppressant medications.
After the MRI on September 24, 2023, the best news a parent could receive! The report said, “there was no significant subcutaneous edema or enhancement to suggest inflammation. There was also no evidence of skin thickening or abnormally enhancing masses within the face. Additionally, the contents of the orbits, paranasal sinuses, mastoid air cells, nasopharynx, oropharynx, hypopharynx, and visualized supraglottic larynx were all normal in appearance. The visualized portions of the brain were also normal.”

I will forever be grateful for Dr. Kevin and his staff. I am a 12-year-old girl, who had Scleroderma, thank God that I didn’t have the main symptoms. Scleroderma is a very rare disease. I was diagnosed around 9 years old. It affects my immune system and my face. My face is what I call a “light side-face” since my face is uneven.
It sadly looks way worse in pictures than in real life, which is the reason why I hate pictures. My parents had tried to find different solutions by going to different doctors for help, they all wanted to do things to me or just let it be. Some did try to help me but failed. My face has ½ of a side that is a bit “smaller” than my other side, it even affects my tongue (not drastic changes, not very noticeable).
When I first came to Agape Natural Health, I was maybe 9 going on to 10 years old. My dad suffered depression because of his immune system being very low. I remember being in and out of the hospital because of his symptoms. He was unable to swallow liquids and food. He would get panic attacks and feel like he was unable to breathe. He would always be so tired and sometimes he would pass out. He lost weight do to him not being able to eat. He was scared to be alone so someone had to always be with him at all times. Doctors tests would come out fine. Many times they would just recommend a psychologist because they would say my dad was fine. That's when my dad walked in to see Dr. Huang, he immediately started treating him and my dad started to feel better. Today my dad is back to normal thanks to God first and for Dr. Huang who was always there for my family through that time. I learned a lot from the time my dad was recovering and learned that even though doctors might tell us we are fine, but if our bodies are not feeling well then there is something wrong. I became a firm believer in holistic medicine since then. Dr. Huang also treated my acne, something products did not do for me. I tried so many products and my face was getting dried and scarred. 5 STAR YELP FIRST TO REVIEW FROM V.B., YORBA LINDA, CALIFORNIA I came to Agape Acupuncture (literally in tears) from a bout of insomnia where I would wake up around 2 AM or earlier and not be able to get back to sleep. As a mother of two little ones this was very difficult and was taking a great toll mentally and physically. I was experiencing extreme fatigue and brain fog. I had already been diagnosed previously with adrenal fatigue the prior year and am on a specific detox/nutrition program, but the insomnia is a whole new beast. I'm a firm believer in natural medicine, herbs, and food as medicine but it takes a skilled healer(s) to apply these with good results. Plus everyone's body is unique.
Dr. Huang ran a simple diagnostic and was not surprised by the symptoms I was having based on the test results. Various organ systems were way out of balance. He prescribed a treatment plan and was quite confident that it could be of great help but would take time.
I am three months into my treatment plan with acupuncture and can say my sleep has improved 80% and keeps on improving. Ironically, I often fall asleep during a treatment as they are so relaxing! The rooms are very clean and calming. I still hit a few bumps in the road, but those days are becoming fewer so that tells me healing is occurring. Adrenal fatigue doesn't happen overnight, so I don't expect overnight healing.
You can tell Dr. Huang cares a great deal for his patients as does his staff. I believe Dr. Huang and Agape Acupuncture were an answer to prayer in my healing journey. He is Christian and gives God the glory for healing. He uses the wisdom of Eastern Medicine to treat the whole body.
I will definitely be recommending Agape Acupuncture to friends and family.

Dr. Huang is a Christian and being asked to pray makes a tremendous difference in our lives. After my 3rd treatment, I was more energetic. My periods are still adjusting but they became better. Lab results confirmed that my FSH lowered to 9.1, normal levels.
I enjoy my job more and its less complicated. I can concentrate and interact more with my kids! I am not frustrated anymore. I wasn’t able to eat before and now I have more appetite. I was diagnosed with Premature Ovarian Failure in January 2011. My FSH (Follicle-Stimulating Hormone) was too high at 108. When I first found out, I was crying and felt frustrated with no hope. The doctors didn’t explain why. I couldn’t concentrate or work and had a lot of stress. I didn’t want to socialize. I’m a realtor and I couldn’t socialize with my clients, and this is part of my job. It was so depressing. I didn’t give quality time to my kids or friends because I was so depressed. I had 2 ultrasounds. The first doctor said my ovaries were so small and it seemed like I wouldn’t have any periods. I had a couple of follicles but it wasn’t enough. The second doctor, who did an ultrasound, didn’t see any follicles. My FSH was very high and it wasn’t going down. The only resources were egg donors. I was offered donor information with a book of women with eye color, hair color and was asked to describe how I wanted my child to look. I cried, got up and left. I felt hopeless. One of the doctors said, “I don’t want to give you hope because you are pre-menopausal.” I didn’t have any menopause symptoms. I needed to go to a place where they could give us hope because the doctors I saw couldn’t help.
I searched the internet for some sort of hope. No one gave us hope and everyone we went to were negative.
