At 14 years of age, I started getting migraine headaches. At that time, I really did not understand - I just knew I had pain. I had family members who also suffered from this: my mother, her sister, my maternal grandmother, and on my father’s side two of his sisters. I experienced a little halo before my eyes, as it progressed a little flash of light and then I would lose my peripheral vision. The headaches affected everything, and it got to the point I was bed ridden. When my migraines come on, I would have to seclude myself in a dark room (no light) and certain odors made it worse. I saw a Neurologist who prescribed shots and prescription drugs such as Imitrex, a muscle relaxer, medication for nausea and a few others ones. I also had biofeedback therapy. From 1988 to 2011 the treatments just treated the symptoms and not the problem. I suffered from a lifetime of headaches and saw 15 medical doctors with no success.

I was looking for something other than what I was having to take - something that worked with no aftermath. On June 11, 2012 I started acupuncture, herbs and dietary guidelines with Dr. Kevin Huang at Agape Acupuncture, Inc. The office is different but educational. It is not your customary doctor office. I really did not understand natural medicine and I was uneducated about it so I really did not have any expectations. The treatments are customized for each patient and caters to the person, body and lifestyle. My friends and family were skeptical at first and now they are supportive. I have had at least 3 relatives come here for other ailments.

After a couple weeks I had more energy and I just felt better in general. In six months I have only had three headaches which were induced by coast to coast air travel. Less time being ill = less time off from work and more time with my family, and I'm in a better mood. I have increased energy and an improved quality of life. Everyone at the office is always pleasant, helpful and easy to talk to. They are very knowledgeable and take the time to explain how natural medicine works and the effects. I feel good about the results. It has exceeded my expectations having come in with an open mind. My friends and family are amazed at how natural medicine can have this effect! I have already referred people and they are all patients here. Before I would go to an MD, now I will come here unless it is an emergency or life threatening event. If someone is unsure or skeptical about natural medicine, I would use my personal experience and results to show them the option on taking drugs vs herbs. I am saved from a lifetime of headaches.

For 14 years I’ve had migraines and headaches, and it worsened over time. I had insomnia, neck pain and stiffness, pressure on my chest and I could not breathe. I could not eat and was vomiting. At age nine I experienced my first migraine. I have been suffering from migraines for the last seven years. The past year was especially painful. I began to experience at least one migraine each week. The pain from the migraines intensified after receiving a concussion from football.

“Two surgeries could not do what natural medicine did!”

For 10 years, since my sophomore year in high school, I suffered from Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Syndrome. I really did not know what it was, and the only way to fix it was by surgery. I was scared and upset. In my junior year of high school, I had the surgery. Two years later, I had another surgery. I had to sleep with a mouth guard, and I would wake up in the morning with a sore jaw and neck. After each surgery, I could not eat for 2 weeks and the recovery was long.

This condition was very painful, and I also had bad headaches as a result of this. My jaw would pop open if I was talking or opening my mouth. The surgeries did not work, and the doctors wanted to do a 3rd surgery, but I refused. The doctors prescribed pain pills and anti-inflammatory medications, which I took. I had massage therapy and I went for physical therapy for 3 months. It was fine for a couple of months, but it came back – the snapping of my jaw and headaches came back. The treatments did not work and did not take care of the problem.

On October 29, 2004, I came to the Agape Acupuncture, Inc. because I wanted to stop my jaw from snapping and to stop the pain. It seemed like a good idea, the office was close to my work. I had acupuncture, herbal medicine and supplements. The treatments are painless, relaxing and help to clear the mind.

I started to feel better after the 1st week of treatments. I have no more headaches, I sleep better, I’m healthier, and I have more energy. I don’t sleep with the night guard or clench my teeth tight anymore. It’s back to normal. The staff is awesome, friendly, supportive and willing to help. I am really excited and happy to find a solution. I am amazed at results like this, and I would refer others for any type of problem. Two surgeries could not do what natural medicine did!

For 25 years (from 1980 to 2005), I suffered from migraine headaches which were tied into my menstrual cycles. I suffered to the point of being non-functional. I missed work and social events and couldn’t plan any family events. I would be in darkness. I had excruciating pain and nausea, and I would throw up.

I went through all treatments and tried all medicines and nothing worked. I tried every migraine pill and medication on the market including Imitrex, Zonegran (an epileptic seizure medication) and Relpax. I was groggy from the medications and the drugs also gave me nausea. I saw a headache specialist and worked with him for about a year. Nothing every helped. All modern medicine offered me in terms of treatment was chemical drugs and there were no results. I was hopeless and thought that this is what my life is going to be.

On February 4, 2005, I came to the Natural Medicine Center. I never knew about natural medicine but was encouraged to come by my mailman Jay, who is a patient. I never heard about natural medicine so I didn’t know what to expect. I received acupuncture, herbal medicine, herbal tablets, knowledge, information, and encouragement. This combination of treatment all makes sense.

The results are great! Within a month, the migraines are gone and I have improved 100%. I have my life back and I feel free. I am not a slave to my headaches anymore and I can do and plan things that were limited before. My energy is up and my outlook on life is better. The staff is very caring, honest and encouraging. They are knowledgeable and explained every step and informed me.

I think that natural medicine is the way to go. My friends and family are amazed and shocked that I have no more headaches, and I have referred them to the Natural Medicine Center. Also, I brought my grandson Jonathan here for treatment. After 1 month, he is off all drug medications and he has no more asthma attacks. From November 2014 to Mid-May 2015, I suffered from Vertigo. Symptoms were dizziness, nausea, frequent headaches, and spinning sensation which prevented me from working a few times. I am a security guard and need to be on my feet and alert. The vertigo hampered that because I couldn’t work while spinning. In July, 2008, I came to Natural Health Orange County. I drove by and decided to come in. I was hoping and also read about acupuncture and hoped it would help me. I was not sure it would work for me.
