When I was in Kindergarten, my parents noticed my face and legs swell up from water retention. After visiting a doctor, they said I had childhood onset, minimal change nephrotic syndrome.

My mom, being the research-warrior that she is, decided to take me to Agape Natural Health, and commit to a natural medicine regime: very limited sugar and salt in my foods, juicing and clean foods, plus acupuncture and herbs. I was young and couldn’t swallow the herbs yet, so we got creative and ground them up with a mortar and pistol and mixed them into applesauce.

Six years ago, I found myself battling HBP (High Blood Pressure) due to overwhelming stress. Then, to my devastation, shock, and horror, about three years ago, I received the diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis—a progressive autoimmune disorder where my immune system attacks my central nervous system, causing lesions. Neurologists informed me that I had multiple lesions on my brain. The left side of my body became weak to the point where I couldn’t walk. I have been struggling with Systemic Sclerosis, also known as scleroderma, GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease), Anxiety, and Stress for about three years now. Systemic Sclerosis, an autoimmune disease, has particularly affected me as it causes the body to attack itself. In my case, inflammation of the esophagus, stomach pain, and constant heartburn.

My dad suffered depression because of his immune system being very low. I remember being in and out of the hospital because of his symptoms. He was unable to swallow liquids and food. He would get panic attacks and feel like he was unable to breathe. He would always be so tired and sometimes he would pass out. He lost weight do to him not being able to eat. He was scared to be alone so someone had to always be with him at all times. Doctors tests would come out fine. Many times they would just recommend a psychologist because they would say my dad was fine. That's when my dad walked in to see Dr. Huang, he immediately started treating him and my dad started to feel better. Today my dad is back to normal thanks to God first and for Dr. Huang who was always there for my family through that time. I learned a lot from the time my dad was recovering and learned that even though doctors might tell us we are fine, but if our bodies are not feeling well then there is something wrong. I became a firm believer in holistic medicine since then. Dr. Huang also treated my acne, something products did not do for me. I tried so many products and my face was getting dried and scarred. After treatment with Dr. Huang I stayed acne free majority of the time. I get one here and there now but nothing compared to what I use to have. The staff is amazing and the  environment is relaxing!

The past year was especially painful. I began to experience at least one migraine each week. The pain from the migraines intensified after receiving a concussion from football. 

On December 1, 2012, I went through my first acupuncture treatment. Agape Acupuncture created a calm environment with a friendly and cheerful staff. 5 STAR YELP FIRST TO REVIEW FROM V.B., YORBA LINDA, CALIFORNIA I came to Agape Acupuncture (literally in tears) from a bout of insomnia where I would wake up around 2 AM or earlier and not be able to get back to sleep. As a mother of two little ones this was very difficult and was taking a great toll mentally and physically. I was experiencing extreme fatigue and brain fog. I had already been diagnosed previously with adrenal fatigue the prior year and am on a specific detox/nutrition program, but the insomnia is a whole new beast. I'm a firm believer in natural medicine, herbs, and food as medicine but it takes a skilled healer(s)  to apply these with good results. Plus everyone's body is unique.

Dr. Huang ran a simple diagnostic and was not surprised by the symptoms I was having based on the test results. Various organ systems were way out of balance. He prescribed a treatment plan and was quite confident that it could be of great help but would take time.

I am three months into my treatment plan with acupuncture and can say my sleep has improved 80% and keeps on improving. Ironically, I often fall asleep during a treatment as they are so relaxing! The rooms are very clean and calming.  I still hit a few bumps in the road, but those days are becoming fewer so that tells me healing is occurring. Adrenal fatigue doesn't happen overnight, so I don't expect overnight healing. 

You can tell Dr. Huang cares a great deal for his patients as does his staff.  I believe Dr. Huang and Agape Acupuncture were an answer to prayer in my healing journey. He is Christian and gives God the glory for healing. He uses the wisdom of Eastern Medicine to treat the whole body.

I will definitely be recommending Agape Acupuncture to friends and family.

On a side note, the office is filled with patient testimonials of healing with a wide range of ailments/diseases and all different ages.

My 17-year-old daughter is an accomplished athlete who competes at a high level. At 16 she started having some health issues. Her blood tests showed that she had hyperthyroidism. Doctors wanted to put her on medication that would ultimately force her to be on medication for the rest of her life. We knew she was too young and otherwise healthy to do that, so we took her to a natural doctor who put her on vitamins to help her health improve.

About a year later, she lost a small patch of hair and we went back to the natural doctor to see what might have caused that. He took blood tests again and her thyroid was still hyper. Also her iron was low and he said she was anemic. She was often tired, but we thought it was from all the volleyball training. So she started taking iron to see if that would improve things. Strangely, her cholesterol was also high (over 200) even though she was practically a vegetarian. And her tonsils were always swollen.

After a few weeks on the iron, she came home from a volleyball tournament with swollen ankles. She thought she had double sprained ankles. Within a couple days, a dark red rash showed up on her ankles and spread up her legs to her knees. We took her to a dermatologist and he said it looked like an autoimmune response. At that point, she was also feeling really weak and she could barely walk with her swollen ankles. My husband researched her symptoms and we realized there was no known Western cure for what she was experiencing. There was only thyroid medication and steroids to reduce the symptoms, but nothing to actually heal her. So we looked up non-Western approaches to treating an autoimmune disorder, and we found Dr. Huang.

We went in scared and confused, watching our strong, healthy daughter in such a weak state. Dr. Huang seemed so confident that he could help her. He believed she had a virus (probably Epstein Bar) and her body had been fighting it since she first started not feeling well a year before. That was why her tonsils were always swollen. The virus finally took over and the autoimmune response was her immune system over-fighting until it actually attacked her own body.

In the beginning of treatment, her hands also started to swell and the rash looked like it was tying to come through on her arms, but acupuncture seemed to keep it from breaking out the way her legs did. She remained really weak the first couple weeks, but acupuncture did stabilize her. Every time we went in, we had so many questions for Dr. Huang, and he was always so patient and kind in answering us. He even took phone calls (so many calls!), and always understood our concerns.

Just over a month of acupuncture, taking herbs and eating the foods Dr. Huang suggested, her rash was fading and her ankles were normal. She took blood tests and her thyroid level was normal for the first time in a year! No medications were necessary. Her iron was also normal even after stopping iron supplements-just changes in diet and getting her system healthy with acupuncture and herbs. Her low white blood cell count showed that she was still fighting the virus, which was also apparent as her energy was still low, and so we continued treatment. She slowly got back into working out with volleyball, but had to take it easy. In two and a half months, she would be leaving to the university where she would play volleyball. I was afraid she would need more time to heal after all her body had been going through, but Dr. Huang believed he could get her healthy by then.

Her next blood test was another month later, and at that point her cholesterol was down to
147. It went down over 50 points even after Dr. Huang had her add organic beef to her diet to help her iron. I asked him how it could be over 200 when she was practically a vegetarian and yet drop so much when she started eating beef. Dr. Huang explained that acupuncture and herbs were helping her liver function properly, which is a greater factor in cholesterol than just diet. The fact that my daughter was feeling better told me acupuncture was working, but seeing the blood tests was proof that it was really healing her inside. The patch of hair she had lost also started growing back, and her tonsils were getting smaller than they'd been in a year.

She had a couple set backs along the way, but Dr. Huang was always there to help her through. She continued getting stronger and after almost four months of seeing Dr. Huang, she was well-just in time to go off to USC where she is playing volleyball. She is fully back to playing and feels as strong as she was before she got sick.

Watching my daughter go through this brought on stress like I'd never felt before. I couldn't eat. I lost 10 pounds and ended up getting an ulcer. My digestive system was a mess and that led to hemorrhoids that wouldn't heal. I knew that if Dr. Huang could heal what my daughter had just gone through, he could heal me. And he did with acupuncture and herbs, I also got better.

Dr. Huang is a wonderful healer, and he is also a genuinely good man. He always keeps such a positive, encouraging attitude. He is unlike any doctor I've been to before, and I think it's because he finds such joy in what he does. He loves to heal people and he truly honors God with his good work. Also, the staff at the office is always so friendly and kind, and they are just as pleasant and helpful on the phone. It's a pleasure to see them each time we go in. We are grateful to have found all the good people at Agape Acupuncture, and we feel so blessed that we were led to this special doctor who healed our daughter.

I suffered from a rash on the stomach, which was red in color. There was itching and I was worried about the rash. At 14 years of age, I started getting migraine headaches. At that time, I really did not understand - I just knew I had pain. I was looking for something other than what I was having to take - something that worked with no aftermath. On June 11, 2012 I started acupuncture, herbs and dietary guidelines with Dr. Kevin Huang at Agape Acupuncture, Inc. The office is different but educational. It is not your customary doctor office. I really did not understand natural medicine and I was uneducated about it so I really did not have any expectations. The treatments are customized for each patient and caters to the person, body and lifestyle. My friends and family were skeptical at first and now they are supportive. I have had at least 3 relatives come here for other ailments.

After a couple weeks I had more energy and I just felt better in general. In six months I have only had three headaches which were induced by coast to coast air travel. Less time being ill = less time off from work and more time with my family, and I'm in a better mood. I have increased energy and an improved quality of life. Everyone at the office is always pleasant, helpful and easy to talk to. They are very knowledgeable and take the time to explain how natural medicine works and the effects. I started having high blood pressure 8 years ago and I felt sad when I received the diagnosis. It is hard to describe but my head and ears felt strange. I stopped riding the rides at the fair when I found out I had HBP. I took drug medications prescribed by my M.D.: 1 per day and continued for 8 years. At times the drug medications would work and at other times the drug medications would not work. Modern medicine only offered me the drugs and to continue taking them.

STOMACH PAINS (4 YEAR OLD BOY) | 2 MONTHS OF AGONY

“On the 6th day of taking the herbs, my son said that the pain is gone... praise Jesus, for healing my son and hearing our prayers.”

Our 4 years old son started having stomach pains. We went to a doctor and was given antibiotics for a week. When the pain did not go away, we did x-ray and ultrasound. The diagnosis was constipation without obstruction. For several weeks, we changed his diet, gave him supplements to help him go. He would go 2-3x a day with good amount but the pain remained. We went to see different doctors and a gastro pediatrician but they have no answers except to put him in Miralax everyday.  

2 months of agony and not knowing if there is something else that we should do. The stomach pain is becoming a part of our everyday life and we don't like it. We prayed and prayed and asked God for direction. We researched online and found Dr. Huang's website. We read the testimonials and we are hopeful. We thought it will do no harm to try acupuncture. We are desperate.

We drove for an hour to see Dr. Huang for our first visit. After the first treatment, my son was given herbs to take everyday.  On the 6th day of taking the herbs, my son said that the pain is gone. As I am writing this testimonial, I can almost hear Dr. Huang's voice saying to my son, "Praise Jesus". Yes, praise Jesus, for healing my son and hearing our prayers.

7 YEARS OF MIGRAINE HEADACHES

At age nine I experienced my first migraine. I have been suffering from migraines for the last seven years. The past year was especially painful. I began to experience at least one migraine each week. The pain from the migraines intensified after receiving a concussion from football.  

On December 1, 2012, I went through my first acupuncture treatment. The Natural Medicine Center created a calm environment with a friendly and cheerful staff. I received acupuncture treatments for the next few months and also took herbal medicines. The positive environment allowed me to feel comfortable and look forward to further treatments.  

Within the next two treatments, I noticed that I wasn’t experiencing migraines as frequently. Before I knew it, a few months passed, and no more migraines. Life without migraines has been so wonderful! I am so blessed that God has placed me under the care of Doctor Kevin!
