I have been struggling with Systemic Sclerosis, also known as scleroderma, GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease), Anxiety, and Stress for about three years now. Systemic Sclerosis, an autoimmune disease, has particularly affected me as it causes the body to attack itself. In my case, inflammation of the esophagus, stomach pain, and constant heartburn.

Scleroderma can affect any part of the digestive system, from the esophagus to the rectum.

While I've experienced minor GERD since September 2017, it worsened significantly three years ago. I was constantly plagued by heartburn, stomach pain and chest pain, and I found myself burping all day. It began to affect every aspect of my life, from work to relationships. Socializing and going out to eat became incredibly difficult, and I couldn't even enjoy meals with my family.

Endoscopy confirmed the inflammation of the esophagus due to Systemic Sclerosis and GERD. The prescribed medications didn't help at all and I was feeling miserable. After my diagnosis, I felt lost and overwhelmed. Despite trying western medicine and acupuncture elsewhere, I didn't see much improvement. It was disheartening to realize that medications weren't providing the relief I so desperately needed.

In November 2023, I made my first visit to Dr. Huang's office after reading a testimonial from someone with my exact condition. I needed to see if it could help me too. At that point, I was simply hoping for some relief, anything to alleviate my symptoms. With the support of my family, especially my mom who had spoken with Dr. Huang and had faith in him from day one, I went in with hopeful optimism.

From my first visit, I felt at ease. The staff was warm and welcoming, which helped calm my nerves. I received acupuncture, herbal remedies, and nutritional advice. The treatments were pleasant, relaxing, and peaceful, and within a month, I began to feel a significant improvement. My symptoms were greatly reduced, and I was able to gradually taper off my medications.

I suffered from a rash on the stomach, which was red in color. There was itching and I was worried about the rash. I used an “over the counter” anti-itch cream to temporary relieve the itch for rash for short term. I wasn’t satisfied with the cream because it didn’t fix the issue in the long term. I also had shoulder and neck pains and stiffness, which occurred in the past that kept me from looking while driving and I had chiropractor care.

Overall I consider myself a very healthy person, but for four months, I suffered from right elbow pain. There was lots of pain at various times, and it affected my home, work and social life. It was uncomfortable and I just wanted to alleviate the pain. I had a hard time lifting a suitcase and laptop. It made traveling difficult and was a constant reminder that I wasn’t working. I tried massages, saw an internal medicine doctor, and took medicine with no relief. Modern medicine only deals with symptoms not the problem. It didn’t offer any relief and I do not trust it. I used pain medications, such as Tylenol and Advil. I used a brace that caused more pain than relief.

My family recommended acupuncture and I tried different acupuncture clinics, but it didn’t work as well as Agape Acupuncture, Inc. I wanted more comfort and to alleviate pain. I was very impressed with the clinic. It is very clean and professional with very friendly staff. I believe in natural medicine and I am always positive about natural healing and juicing. I received acupuncture treatments and the results were very positive - it completely eliminated my elbow pain. I felt better after the second treatment, and the pain gradually went away with treatments. Everything has gotten better and the pain no longer gets in the way.  

I would definitely recommend Agape Acupuncture to my friends and family so that they can receive better results without unknown chemicals in their body. They have decided to try natural medicine for other health problems. The office has a very nice environment and is a good place to come relax.
