When I was in Kindergarten, my parents noticed my face and legs swell up from water retention. After visiting a doctor, they said I had childhood onset, minimal change nephrotic syndrome.
My mom, being the research-warrior that she is, decided to take me to Agape Natural Health, and commit to a natural medicine regime: very limited sugar and salt in my foods, juicing and clean foods, plus acupuncture and herbs. I was young and couldn’t swallow the herbs yet, so we got creative and ground them up with a mortar and pistol and mixed them into applesauce.
About two years of acupuncture treatment from Dr. Huang and the staff at Agape Natural Health and lots of prayer from family and friends, I was miraculously healed. Up until that point, my body showed no signs of healing, but about three years after the diagnosis, my nephrotic syndrome completely disappeared.
July of 2017 marked the five year checkpoint without a relapse, so I was officially released from nephrotic care at CHOC Children’s hospital, the hospital that diagnosed my condition in the first place.
The doctors there were shocked and couldn’t figure out what switched in my steroid-dependent, young body. I was the first child to be released from that section of CHOC in two years. Six years ago, I found myself battling HBP (High Blood Pressure) due to overwhelming stress. Then, to my devastation, shock, and horror, about three years ago, I received the diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis—a progressive autoimmune disorder where my immune system attacks my central nervous system, causing lesions. Neurologists informed me that I had multiple lesions on my brain. The left side of my body became weak to the point where I couldn’t walk. Fatigue overwhelmed me, and simple tasks like writing became a struggle. My speech was affected, and I found it difficult to articulate my thoughts. Additionally, my vision deteriorated.
My son took me to urgent care, where the doctor provided me with crutches. I have been struggling with Systemic Sclerosis, also known as scleroderma, GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease), Anxiety, and Stress for about three years now. Systemic Sclerosis, an autoimmune disease, has particularly affected me as it causes the body to attack itself. In my case, inflammation of the esophagus, stomach pain, and constant heartburn.
Scleroderma can affect any part of the digestive system, from the esophagus to the rectum.
While I've experienced minor GERD since September 2017, it worsened significantly three years ago. We discovered Dr. Huang over six years ago when our 17-year-old daughter's health dramatically declined. Initially we didn't understand what was happening to her, but based on her blood tests and symptoms it was determined that she had an autoimmune condition. Her regular doctor wanted to treat all her symptoms with a variety of medication that would eventually harm her, and yet he said the drugs would not ultimately heal her. I'll admit that the first few weeks I remained doubtful because I wanted to see instant results. This place is amazing and life changing! I brought my mom here when her health got really bad. The doctors wanted to put stints and she was on about 15 different medications. She was on Dialysis and had a never ending cough for about 10 years(valley fever). It felt really hopeless for her and for all our family. But than out of desperation, I looked online and found this place. After a few months of coming here, she is now only on 2 medications and her cough went away and she no longer needs to have stints put in her because her heart got better. I'm so thankful I found this place. I've been diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis (UC) last December. It was an awful experience and I was almost losing hope for recovery. I first started coming to Dr. Huang in October of 2017. I had been suffering with desquamative inflammatory vaginitis or chronic vaginitis in general for 4 1/2 years. I kept getting misdiagnosed for the first 2 years with my medical doctor and the last 2 1/2 years, my OB helped with the symptoms, but never knew why I was still experiencing moderate symptoms. I was constantly prescribed with drugs or creams that never got to the root of the problem and stopped working. Finally, I was fed up and started looking at alternative options. I went to another acupuncturist before Dr. Huang, but she never solved any of my health issues. I found Dr. Huang by chance, and was impressed by his knowledge and testimonials that provided evidence for his work. After 6 months of treatment, I am about 90-95% recovered and hardly feel symptoms, which is way better than when I first started with him. My husband and I also saw him for secondary infertility treatments, and within the first cycle, we got pregnant! Dr. Kevin Huang and his staff are dedicated to providing the best alternative health care that I wish were more common place in today's modern medicine system.
I came back after almost 10 years because I was desperate for an alternative solution to my acid reflux. I'm glad I did! It's been three weeks, and my condition is improving steadily.
The acupuncture sessions are short, but effective with a compliment of herbal supplements that I take following meals. Given my results so far, I decided to bring my mom who has been struggling with shingles and muscle pain. She just completed her first week of treatment, and has decided to continue for the full 12 weeks.

This place is amazing!!! For 6 long months, I was covered head to toe in hives everyday. I went to so many doctors and allergy specialists just trying to figure out why they just randomly appeared one day when I have never had any allergies before! After all those tests, medications and diet changes, nothing helped so they just gave me a bunch of drugs to keep them from driving me crazy. But im so happy to say that just after two months of acuptutre and herbs they are almost completely gone! I know that some people don't believe that these kinds of treatments work but I would say defiantly give them a try! I had struggled with a bad case of Eczema, in which itchy red sores appeared all over my skin. After visiting five different doctors over the course of a year, I found that none of them could help me. One of them gave me a cream to help relieve the itching, but it was bad for my skin in other ways.
I came to Agape Acupuncture on the suggestion of my pastor's wife, whose friend had a good experience here. The treatment wasn't what I was used to - acupuncture sessions, dieting, herbal pills, and a natural cream that wouldn't harm my skin. However, within a few months, I could see dramatic improvement. I was able to go out and do things without feeling constant discomfort. I was able to wear clothes that previously were too harsh on my skin.

I have been going to him for the last two years for several conditions but primarily are bladder issue. I am 94% better which is huge! I also have more energy and am in the process or reducing medications I take for arthritis. Dr. Kevin is a good listener and very knowledgeable on health issues. He has a fantastic staff too which is kind and caring.

Dr. Huang carefully looked at all of the medical data and validated the condition, but told me that he was able to help. I had been sick for several months rotating through antibiotics, I had lost 30 lbs and needed to take a trip overseas, but could not take the required immunizations in my condition. Dr. Huang confidently informed me that I would make the trip, prayed for me then began treating me with diet change, herbal supplements and acupuncture. In a few months I went overseas. As an added benefit I am off of cholesterol medications and have the best cholesterol levels since I was 20. Dr. Huang and his staff are amazing. He won't lie to you, he'll tell you if he can help you or not and he knows what he is doing. I recommend Agape Acupuncture to everyone I know. I can't stop thanking God for healing me by the loving hands of Agape Acupuncture.

I have digestive issues and sometimes it gets difficult because it affects my eating. I hate it but Dr. Huang treats me with herbs, acupuncture and encourages me to push forward. Thank you Agape Acupuncture.
