We recommend drinking 8-10 (8 ounce) glasses of water each day, which equals about 64-80 ounces. Quite simply, there really isn’t a better drink than just plain good-quality water. Most people would agree that drinking water is a satisfying and enjoyable act, but for those who do not like to drink water, try drinking small amounts more frequently, drink some warm tea, or add fresh fruits to infuse your water.

Remember that a sure sign the kidneys are being hurt by dehydration is the presence of dark colored urine. This is a good indicator that the body needs more water. Dduring fall season, according to the laws of natural medicine and the biothermomic temperature, when the weather begins to cool down, the water that we drink should not be iced or directly from the refrigerated.

Our body is 37 degrees Celsius (98.6 degrees Fahrenheit) and drinking room temperature water is already cooling down the body during this season. We do not need the added pressure of cold temperature foods to slow down metabolism, suppress the immune system and hinder the circulatory system, especially on cold days as we move into colder weather during these autumn and winter months.

 Treatment of IBS

Treatments for irritable bowel syndrome focuses on relieving the signs and symptoms. Treatment depends on the pattern of changes in the patient's bowel movements. An individual with mild signs and symptoms can control their symptoms by changing their diet and lifestyle. If the condition is moderate or severe, medication and counseling are recommended to relieve the symptoms. Medication is treated for diarrhea, constipation, and abdominal pain. However, some medicines work only for certain types of IBS and can make other types worse.

     Case Studies

A study was done at Yiwu Central Hospital on 86 patients with IBD-D that was randomly divided into a control group and an observation group. The control group received herbal medicine three times a day over 30 days, and the observation group received herbal medicine (same as the control group) and acupuncture five times a week over 30 days. Results showed herbal medicine and acupuncture combined recovery rate was 34.9% with a total effective rate of 90.7% compared to recover rate of 18.6% and an overall effective rate of 79.1% for the control group.

My dad suffered depression because of his immune system being very low. I remember being in and out of the hospital because of his symptoms. He was unable to swallow liquids and food. He would get panic attacks and feel like he was unable to breathe. He would always be so tired and sometimes he would pass out. He lost weight do to him not being able to eat. He was scared to be alone so someone had to always be with him at all times. Doctors tests would come out fine. Many times they would just recommend a psychologist because they would say my dad was fine. That's when my dad walked in to see Dr. Huang, he immediately started treating him and my dad started to feel better. Today my dad is back to normal thanks to God first and for Dr. Huang who was always there for my family through that time. I learned a lot from the time my dad was recovering and learned that even though doctors might tell us we are fine, but if our bodies are not feeling well then there is something wrong. I became a firm believer in holistic medicine since then. Dr. Huang also treated my acne, something products did not do for me. I tried so many products and my face was getting dried and scarred. After treatment with Dr. Huang I stayed acne free majority of the time. I get one here and there now but nothing compared to what I use to have. 5 STAR YELP FIRST TO REVIEW FROM V.B., YORBA LINDA, CALIFORNIA I came to Agape Acupuncture (literally in tears) from a bout of insomnia where I would wake up around 2 AM or earlier and not be able to get back to sleep. As a mother of two little ones this was very difficult and was taking a great toll mentally and physically. I was experiencing extreme fatigue and brain fog. I had already been diagnosed previously with adrenal fatigue the prior year and am on a specific detox/nutrition program, but the insomnia is a whole new beast. I'm a firm believer in natural medicine, herbs, and food as medicine but it takes a skilled healer(s)  to apply these with good results. Plus everyone's body is unique.

Dr. Huang ran a simple diagnostic and was not surprised by the symptoms I was having based on the test results. Various organ systems were way out of balance. He prescribed a treatment plan and was quite confident that it could be of great help but would take time.

I am three months into my treatment plan with acupuncture and can say my sleep has improved 80% and keeps on improving. Ironically, I often fall asleep during a treatment as they are so relaxing! The rooms are very clean and calming.  I still hit a few bumps in the road, but those days are becoming fewer so that tells me healing is occurring. Adrenal fatigue doesn't happen overnight, so I don't expect overnight healing. 

You can tell Dr. Huang cares a great deal for his patients as does his staff.  I believe Dr. Huang and Agape Acupuncture were an answer to prayer in my healing journey. He is Christian and gives God the glory for healing. He uses the wisdom of Eastern Medicine to treat the whole body.

I will definitely be recommending Agape Acupuncture to friends and family.

For 14 years I’ve had migraines and headaches, and it worsened over time. I had insomnia, neck pain and stiffness, pressure on my chest and I could not breathe. I could not eat and was vomiting. Any loud noise hurt my head and I had irritability all the time. I had to quit school and could not go to family gatherings. I was unable to perform activities I once used to and unable to exercise as often as before. The migraines totally took over my life and affected every part of my life. Our 4 years old son started having stomach pains. We went to a doctor and was given antibiotics for a week. When the pain did not go away, we did x-ray and ultrasound. I received acupuncture treatments for the next few months and also took herbal medicines. The positive environment allowed me to feel comfortable and look forward to further treatments.  

Within the next two treatments, I noticed that I wasn’t experiencing migraines as frequently. Before I knew it, a few months passed, and no more migraines. Life without migraines has been so wonderful! I am so blessed that God has placed me under the care of Doctor Kevin!

In 2011, I went to Dr. Kevin Huang for acupuncture treatment. I had a light case of shingles and had a persistent nerve pain in my upper back. The acupuncture treatment did not hurt, and successfully made the back pain go away.

In the summer of 2013, I had a pain in my upper thigh from arthritis, and an itchy red heat rash on my back from the hot temperatures. Again, I went to Dr. Huang for acupuncture treatment, and the pain in my thigh and the heat rash on my back went away. A little over 3 months ago I began to have terrible excruciating pain caused by Shingles. It was a constant pain and numbness. I kept doing what I would normally do, even during the pain. I was prescribed drug medicine by my medical doctor and it didn’t do anything for me. First off all, I don’t like taking pills, especially when it doesn’t accomplish anything. The medical doctor didn’t achieve anything – zero. I continued taking the drug medications until I started treatment at Agape Acupuncture on April 27, 2013.

My children have been here and I thought I’d try it. My daughter suggested that I come because of the constant pain and numbness and I hoped to eliminate this. My friends and family were supportive. I was a firm believer in natural medicine before coming to Agape Acupuncture. I was diagnosed with Premature Ovarian Failure in January 2011. My FSH (Follicle-Stimulating Hormone) was too high at 108. When I first found out, I was crying and felt frustrated with no hope. The doctors didn’t explain why. I couldn’t concentrate or work and had a lot of stress. I didn’t want to socialize. I’m a realtor and I couldn’t socialize with my clients, and this is part of my job. It was so depressing. I didn’t give quality time to my kids or friends because I was so depressed. I had 2 ultrasounds. The first doctor said my ovaries were so small and it seemed like I wouldn’t have any periods. I had a couple of follicles but it wasn’t enough. The second doctor, who did an ultrasound, didn’t see any follicles. My FSH was very high and it wasn’t going down. The only resources were egg donors. I was offered donor information with a book of women with eye color, hair color and was asked to describe how I wanted my child to look. I cried, got up and left. I felt hopeless. One of the doctors said, “I don’t want to give you hope because you are pre-menopausal.” I didn’t have any menopause symptoms. I needed to go to a place where they could give us hope because the doctors I saw couldn’t help.

I searched the internet for some sort of hope. No one gave us hope and everyone we went to were negative.  I found the Natural Medicine Center website and one of Dr. Huang’s mottos are, “God gives you herbs.” It caught my attention. I wasn’t into natural medicine before but I decided to give it a try. Other doctors haven’t given me hope. I started coming to Natural Medicine Center on February 11, 2011 and received acupuncture and herbs. I wanted to lower my FSH and get pregnant, have a baby and be healed from Premature Ovarian Failure. We were surprised and amazed about what natural medicine can do. He’s been to every treatment with me and has been very supportive. The clinic felt homey. I like it! I love it! Dr. Huang is a Christian and being asked to pray makes a tremendous difference in our lives. After my 3rd treatment, I was more energetic. My periods are still adjusting but they became better. Lab results confirmed that my FSH lowered to 9.1, normal levels.

I enjoy my job more and its less complicated. I can concentrate and interact more with my kids! I am not frustrated anymore. I wasn’t able to eat before and now I have more appetite. I am very happy and never imagined these results. It was unbelievable! The staff is kind, helps a lot and gives support. The medical staff does what they do with a smile and with love. I am very happy about my results. I am a 110% believer in natural medicine! The impression of Natural Medicine Center is great. I love it and will never change it for any other clinic. If something happens, I’ll be here. I will always recommend it because this is the place that gave me hope. It’s the best option! It’s the best medicine for us and doesn’t give you side effects. I suffered from fibromyalgia for over 7 years, and I was diagnosed with heel spurs 3½ years ago. It started on my heels and then it went to my hip. This condition affected every aspect of my life. It made me tired and made it difficult to care for a child and keep up the household. The pain and fatigue affected my work and socializing with friends and family. The pain was too much and I could not walk. I was tired all the time.

I went to the medical doctors and they did nerve testing and x-rays. They found large heel spurs on my left and right foot. They gave me cortisone shots which ultimately did not help me and I was in pain and had difficulty walking. There were no results from the cortisone shots.

On June 23, 2006, I came to the Agape Acupuncture, Inc. with the encouragement of my sister. I was interested in learning about natural medicine, but I have never tried it. When I fist came to Agape Acupuncture, Inc. I had been battling with extreme pain due to being diagnosed with bulging discs in my back, shoulder injuries, ulnar nerve problems to my elbows and carpal tunnel.  I had surgery on my right shoulder with not much success I was told I needed surgery to my left shoulder, carpal tunnel surgery to both wrists and possible back surgery. I was having extreme pain where I was taking medication for pain, nerve pain pills, sleeping pills, anti-inflammatory meds, etc. I had difficulty walking, due to sciatic nerve pain which radiated down to my calf.  I walked with a limp with my left foot turned out. The only way I was somewhat comfortable walking was with Z-coil shoes, which were shoes that had a spring in them that helped to absorb the impact. I could not sit for very long.  I could not let anyone touch me as it was extremely painful. I had such extreme fatigue I could not get out of bed for very long without being exhausted again. I was not able to work for 5 years I wasn't able to live a normal life. I went through treatment with western medicine doctors with very little to no relief.

I was at my wits end and looking for other options for treatment, not wanting to go through another surgery.  I had heard about acupuncture and people having good success. My husband researched to find an acupuncture doctor and found Dr. Huang. After reviewing Dr. Huang's website and seeing Dr. Huang was a believer in Christ and didn't just do acupuncture but natural medicine, we were excited. We had always believed in natural medicine and knew it worked.  

I started coming to Dr. Huang in 2007 and found out I had fibromyalgia, Epstein Bar and a hormone imbalance. I also realized I had damaged my liver due to all the pain meds. After a few months of treatment with Dr. Huang I was able to start reducing my pain meds. Several months later I was able to sit and walk without much pain.  I advised my orthopedic doctor what I was doing and he referred me to a pain management doctor for help in getting off the pain meds. I am a strong believer in Jesus Christ and knew with God's help I could get off the pain meds.  Praise God He helped me to do just that!  

It has been an up hill battle at times to maintain my energy and eliminate my pain and return to a normal life, however after much prayer and Dr. Huang's anointing from God and wisdom in natural medicine and acupuncture I am now living a full life. I am working full time and now have my energy back. I praise God for leading me and my husband to Dr. Huang. It is such a blessing to come to the office for treatment and be able to share with Dr. Huang all that God is doing in my life with healing and blessing me with business. I tell everyone about Dr. Huang and have referred several friends and family members who have and continue to benefit from Dr. Huang's treatment. I believe God intended for our bodies to be treated with the things from this earth not chemicals that mask the problem and harm our bodies.

At 8 years old, I was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis (later Ankylosing Spondylitis), and for the next 10 years I was in and out of hospitals, always on different medications. These were some of the most trying times in my life. But the next 20 years or so I seemed to stabilize and was able to deal and “adapt” with my condition. About 2 years ago, however, it came back – with a vengeance! Without warning, my left knee blew up like a balloon! My lower back became stiff and painful, my ankles swelled up and I was laid up in bed for a whole month! I would eventually miss three months of work! It was like being a child again.

Once the drug doctors stabilized me, they put me on Indocin, then Plaquenil, but when I started reading about these drugs I realized that they were doing more harm than good! (Since then I have suffered damage to my left eye as a result.) Then in May 2004, I developed a whole new problem: my groin. I had never experienced pain in that area before and it was devastating! I got so desperate for relief I started taking Vioxx. But just when I was at one of the lowest times of my life, God brought me to the Agape Acupuncture, Inc.. I couldn’t believe how different and “opposite” it was from a drug doctor’s office. I figured the Lord brought me here for a reason so I decided (“reluctantly”) to try it. (I said “reluctantly” because everything was foreign to me: the acupuncture, teas, supplements, diet, etc.)

After 2 weeks, however, I noticed improvement. 2 weeks after that I improved even more. With each treatment the pain subsided, and with a new diet (a miracle that God could change me from a carnivore to a vegetarian) and the drugs out of my system I could literally feel my body getting healthier. 3 months after my initial exam, the pain and discomfort were virtually non-existent. All my internal organs and systems, which had been working overtime (because of a steady diet of Del Taco and Carl’s Jr.) improved dramatically – many in the normal range. It’s been almost 6 months now and the pain is no more. My energy is way up and life is looking brighter and healthier. I also know that this is not a temporary “fix” like drugs are, because the “cause” is being treated not the “symptom”.

I thank God for bringing me here and for equipping and using Dr. Janet and Dr. Kevin in such a mighty way. They have been a huge blessing in my life. They are caring, compassionate people with a wonderful staff who make me feel at home every time I walk through the doors of the Agape Acupuncture, Inc.
