I have had severe migraines for over 19 years, which started when I was 10 years old. My migraines came frequently and I have suffered so much pain for all those years. Every time I would have my migraine attack my left eye would hurt so bad, unbearably, and I would keep on vomiting for days which would sometimes make me dehydrated. Most doctors of course prescribed the usual medications, saying that there is no cure, only pain management, and most recently I have had to make several trip to urgent care.
Trying to trace the “triggers” of my migraines has been nearly impossible. When I am outside in the hot weather, my migraine comes, when inside the house with cool temperature my migraine comes. In the mall, in the theater, at church attending mass my migraine would come.
I feel as though I have died a thousand times in pain from these migraines. They have been so debilitating, causing me to have to lock myself in a dark and quiet room, and yet still having so much pain and constantly vomiting. I am a naturally active and hard working person and so this illness also causes me to suffer from depression as it restricts most aspects of my activities.
A few months ago a friend of mine suggested that I try acupuncture as it is able to treat many illnesses. Although we were somewhat skeptical my husband and I began a search to find an acupuncturist that we were comfortable with when we came across Dr. Huang’s Natural Medicine website in July of 2012, and were impressed, and made an appointment right away.

For 20 years, I suffered with migraine headaches. The migraines were every month, lasting 3 days like clock work. It was awful because I knew what was coming. It progressively got worse and I suffered from vomiting, blurred vision, and a constant throbbing pain on the left side of the head. It was an awful experience that words cannot express, and it interrupted my whole lifestyle. I had to gauge life around this condition and it often left me bed ridden.
I saw a migraine specialist who put me on drug medications and pain killers. I have been on migraine medicine over 20 years. The medicine made me feel lethargic, irritable and impatient. It was always a new drug prescription, and I had given myself so many shots every month, I felt like a drug addict. "I hated it." Nothing worked and when the shots did not work, I had to go to the emergency room.
On June 4, 2005, I came to the Natural Medicine Center because for 4 days straight I felt the pain and it didn’t cease. I didn’t want to go on like this and I didn’t want to live anymore. In April 2007, my daughter mentioned to me that many people at her church had visited the Natural Medicine Center and highly recommended Dr. Kevin Huang. In April, I decided to go in and see what he could do. I started treatment with the teas and the acupuncture that day. He also started treatment on me for my high blood pressure, high cholesterol and hot flashes. I suffered every night for approximately 10 years from these hot flashes that would wake me up 2 to 3 times a night. I noticed a difference with all my problems by the 3rd week of treatment.
It is now December 2007 and I feel a thousand times better, with much more energy, my blood pressure is controlled and my cholesterol is normal. My stomach is much better. I follow my diet and I’m a very good patient with sticking it. All the staff are very attentive and the Natural Medicine Center is very cordial. Thanks to God and Dr. Kevin I feel like a new person. For a long time, I suffered with Acid Reflux, but in May of 2006, I became very ill. I went to my medical doctor and he prescribed Protonix, which I took for 8 months with no results or feeling better.
