Approximately 1 month ago I was diagnosed with Anxiety and Depression from not getting enough sleep and from work and the care of my child. I was tired and I went to a couple of different doctors and was prescribed a couple meds: anxiety and relax pills. I took drug medications for the month of October, which I felt did not really help.
I wanted to try natural acupuncture treatment. I was not a firm believer in natural medicine before Agape Acupuncture, Inc. but I read the testimonials online and wanted to try it. My friends and family were very supportive. I came to see Dr. Kevin Huang on October 23, 2012 and started acupuncture and herbal medicine. I wanted help and I expected to get well. I was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder last September 2013 and was right away advised to go through chemo treatments. Because of fear and desperation I accepted the protocol of conventional medicine. I was put on weekly strong steroids and weekly subcutaneous shots of chemotherapy. The side effects were so hard on my body and my emotions. I had shingles as a side effect of the chemo, consistent stye on both eyes, low energy, constant fatigue and worst of all was the roller coaster mood swings that made me feel needy, afraid and alone in my health crisis.
A good friend recommended seeing Dr. Huang at Agape Acupuncture, Inc. After Christmas I started acupuncture and herbal medicine. In June 2014 I experienced a solid week of severe anxiety. I took medication, which relieved it but I felt like I could easily become dependent on it. I began acupuncture with a different provider. After nearly three months I felt more downs than ups so as I decided to research acupuncture doctors in my area. I found Agape Acupuncture and Dr. Huang. I read the many testimonials and decided to go in for a consultation. From the moment I walked into the office I felt this sense of calmness and peace.
I began treatment with Dr. Huang in September. I immediately felt at peace. The fact that Dr. Huang is Christian has made the experience amazing. I felt a deep connection and belief in the treatment I received. Of course I’ve experienced a couple of setbacks.
At one of my sessions I shared with Dr. Huang that I was about to give up - I wanted to feel better now. I was ready to go to a doctor for anxiety medication - take the easy way out; I cried and he listened. He calmed me down, talked to me, and honest to God gave me advise that I will follow for the rest of my life. Talking with Dr. Huang, taking my prescribed herbs, and going to my acupuncture sessions have all helped me cope with the things that caused me anxiety in the past. I am true believer in natural medicine.
Recently I had a bad cold; I thought I’d take an over the counter medication; big mistake. I felt terrible the following morning with heart palpitations that always seemed to be the onset of an anxiety attack for me. The first thing I did was drink a strong cup of chamomile tea that morning and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Huang for a treatment. He prescribed me herbs and I honestly felt better the following morning. All thanks to natural medicine and acupuncture.
I am currently seeing Dr. Huang for acupuncture every other week and will begin seeing him every three weeks now and continue taking herbs. I could never have done this without Dr. Huang, his team of wonderful people, and God. I am a true believer in natural medicine and have learned to cope with anxiety with the wisdom, prayer and treatment of Dr. Huang and I can honestly say I have peace in my heart knowing that I made that right decision.
