At four months old, my son developed eczema on his cheeks. When he was old enough to crawl, it spread all over his neck, arms, and legs. He was covered in big, red spots that inflamed throughout his body. His skin was dry, flaky, and scaly that looked and felt like an alligator. There was not a spot on his arms, hands, and leg that wasn't eczema. Everything I did for my son did not help. He was miserable. His eczema kept him up all day and all night, causing him to be restless. I was restless, too.
When his pediatrician told me that it was just a baby rash, which is common in infants, it will eventually go away. Since it didn't go away and it came back worse than before, that was when his pediatrician diagnosed my son with eczema. What came across my mind was “are you kidding me!” I couldn't believe such a thing could happen to my precious little boy. I wasn't aware of what eczema was or have I seen them before so seeing my son acquire such condition was unbelievable.
We used everything from over the counter antihistamine cream, and body oil to prescription steroid cream and nothing helped to relieve the pain he was experiencing. His primary pediatrician even increased his steroid cream dosage and recommended other over-the-counter creams, but it just made his eczema worse. I felt hopeless for my son. Even with intensive research on eczema, everything I did for him, including his doctor recommendation and home remedies for eczema did not work. It was just a temporary relief. There was nothing modern medicine could do to help my little boy. The inflammation was unbearable that it made him irritable, grumpy, and itchier that he couldn't stay asleep for more than 15-30 minutes at a time. All I wanted was my baby boy to be happy, but the eczema was controlling his life.

At sixteen months old, I took my son to Agape Natural Health. My first impression of the clinic felt very welcoming, like home. The staff members were friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Temperature Control and Regulation
In a sense, the body is a small universe with a heat and energy giver, exemplifying the sun within a solar system. The hypothalamus of the brain acts as a “thermostat” to control body temperature. This homeostatic mechanism maintains 37 degrees Celsius (or 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit) in a healthy person. It not only controls the external temperature but also internal temperature of important organ systems.
When the body is exposed to a cold environment and the temperature begins to drop, the hypothalamus senses this change and triggers heat-generating and heat-conserving activities. Small groups of muscle cells are stimulated to involuntarily contract - an action called shivering. These muscular contractions produce heat, which warm the body. At the same time, blood vessels within the skin also constrict to reduce blood flow, which allow heat to be retained in deeper tissue.

Similarly, if a person becomes over heated, the temperature control center of the brain triggers a series of changes that promote loss of body heat. Sweat glands in the skin are stimulated to secrete watery perspiration. As the water evaporates from the surface, heat is carried away and the skin is cooled down. At the same time, the brain center causes blood vessels in the skin to dilate. This allows the blood that carries heat from deeper tissue to reach the surface where more heat is lost to the outside. Also, the brain center stimulates increased heart rate, causing a greater volume of blood to move into the surface vessels and an increase in breathing rate allowing more heat carrying air to be expelled from the lungs.
The 14 vertical organ systems (female reproductive, male reproductive, liver, gallbladder, heart, small intestine, pericardium, lymphatic, stomach, spleen, lung, large intestine, kidney, and urinary bladder) have different internal temperatures, as do the seasons. If there is an imbalance of internal environment, the organ systems show different symptoms or illnesses. The internal temperature variations of foods and herbs are able to balance the internal temperatures of the organ systems.

After 10 years of all this, it turned out there were several causes to what I felt like were chronic hives and chronic cold symptoms. Initially the bumps were bug bites, then a soap allergy, a dust allergy, a grass allergy, etc. All my hopping from doctor to doctor, conventional and non-conventional, alleviated my bumps and cold symptoms in layers, but not completely.

In 2009 I was diagnosed with hives, which made me scared. I had it all over my body. I was itchy all the time even in the middle of the night and I could not sleep. I came to get treatment mostly for my acne. My face was always so dry, and washing my face made it worse from all the chemicals and creams I would use. For my acne I used a lot of facial treatments, creams and pills. The creams caused my face to get very red, dry, and peeling. It was horrible with make-up as well. I would break out even worse. The treatments were not working at all! I kept looking for medical treatments that would be not so strong for my face since it was peeling already from the use of so much chemicals. I almost had laser removal but was too scared and I heard many people comment about it not working. My face kept drying and peeling. My friends and family are happy to see me better and happier. I don’t mind coming here, and I don’t see it as a chore. I would refer someone here if they had something that modern medicine wouldn’t work for or hadn’t worked for. I was diagnosed with body wide hives and it progressed over time. I always thought I was relatively healthy and when it happened it shook up my life and made the simplest things really hard. The extreme hives were really itchy and uncomfortable. The angioedema and swelling made it hard to breath and swallow and was really uncomfortable all the time. I really couldn’t do anything - I couldn’t go to work and I couldn’t be active. The Allergist, Endocrinologist and ER doctors prescribed medications, but Antihistamines and steroids didn’t do anything. They seemed to mask my pain rather than fix it. They provided short-term remedies as opposed to long-term solutions and weren’t helpful with what was wrong with me. They didn’t really do anything and I was probably at my worst when I came here.
