In 2017, I began to deal with skin issues such as hives, rashes, burning, itchiness and even insomnia. On November 24, 2018, I went to the dermatologist and was diagnosed with eczema dermatitis. I was shocked. I didn't realize I had something that serious because I was pretty healthy; it was odd that I had severe eczema. Eczema caused me to have severe swelling, major pain that felt like someone was punching me in the face. My primary doctor prescribed Prednisone, but they had bad side effects. I even tried high dose IV, and that didn't help at all. They kept prescribing me more and more medication; it made everything worse. Eczema affected my social life, work, and sleep. WHAT IS ECZEMA?
Eczema is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that leads to red, dry, and itchy skin. The cause of eczema is unknown. Eczema is linked to an over-active immune system. The immune system is triggered by a substance inside or outside of the body. When the substance stimulates the body, the immune system responds by producing inflammation. Eczema is commonly found in children but can occur in adults. They tend to flare up periodically on the face, inside the elbows and the knees, and on hands and feet. Eczema is noncontagious and may clear up with time or get worse over time.
ECZEMA SYMPTOMS
Symptoms of eczema vary in each individual, and an outbreak can occur in different areas of the body throughout the various times of the year. An individual may experience dry and itchy skin that is usually severe at night. When scratched, fluid may leak and crust over, leaving the skin to feel raw, sensitive, and swollen. Over time, the skin will thicken, crack, scale, and turn into red to brownish-gray patches. For infants, they may experience eczema outbreaks on their head and scalp.

MODERN MEDICINE TREATMENT FOR ECZEMA | DRUG MEDICINE TREATMENT
There is no cure for eczema. Treatments vary from medication to home remedies to help relieve itching and prevent new outbreaks, but not all treatment will work for everyone. It may take various treatments or home remedies for several months or years to control eczema. Topical cream or ointment prescribed by their doctor can help control itch and repair the skin, but with overuse of the medication, it can cause thin skin, affects the immune system, and have black box warning of the potential risk of cancer. Oral medication helps with inflammation but not recommended for long term used due to potentially serious side effects. I was diagnosed with eczema and migraine headaches at 13 years old. I suffered with this condition for 9 years and felt nervous that it would effect my skin my whole life. The headaches limited me where I could not go to work. The migraine headaches caused extreme nausea, and I was very light and sound sensitive. It caused me to be sick and it was hard to talk with people or focus on anything. The eczema made my skin extremely itchy. I could not wear clothes that I wanted. I had sleeplessness at night from the irritation and it bothered me daily at work.
I went to several Dermatologists for the eczema and the treatments of topical and steroid based ointments typically lasted 3 months. The eczema would go away for only short amounts of time and then come back. The creams always irritated my skin, caused extreme burning and dried out surrounding areas not affected by eczema.
