I was told it was IBS. With a list of things to keep away from my diet I was sent home. I continued to experience problems and I would constantly be in the restroom. I finally returned to the Dr in 2003. I had a endoscopy and colonoscopy done; that's when I was diagnosed with microscopic colitis, which caused me to have severe diarrhea. I was given a steroid medication which it didn't help out at all. I would have 8-10 bowel movements a day. I continued this way with repeated procedures every 3 years, having another one on 6-17-2013 with no change no matter what they gave me...I started treatment In June 2015 with flare ups through out the treatment but my bowl movements a day started to decrease. IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a chronic condition that affects the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. They cause frequent abdominal pains and irregular bowel movements that occur together. Irritable bowel syndrome can occur without any indication of visible damage or disease in the GI tract. They change the way the muscles contracts in the intestinal tract that result in diarrhea, constipation or both.
IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME SYMPTOMS
Irritable bowel syndrome symptoms are abdominal pain, cramping, bloating, gas, diarrhea, and constipation.

More common for women to have IBS

TREATMENT OF IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME
Treatments for irritable bowel syndrome focuses on relieving the signs and symptoms. Treatment depends on the pattern of changes in their bowel movements. An individual with mild signs and symptoms can control their symptoms by changing their diet and lifestyle. If the condition is moderate or severe, medication and counseling are recommended to relieve the symptoms. Medication is treated for diarrhea, constipation, and abdominal pain. However, some medicines work only for certain types of IBS and can make other types worse.
ACUPUNCTURE TO BENEFIT IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME
Acupuncture and herbal medicine induce homeostatic response on the cellular level by influencing the body’s internal organs to correct imbalances in their digestion, absorption, and energy production activities. They stimulate the nervous system to release chemicals in the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These chemicals will change the experience of pain, or they will trigger the release of other chemicals and hormones which influence the body’s own internal regulating system. Acupuncture helps irritable bowel syndrome by strengthening the internal organs, restoring the gastrointestinal tract muscle contractions, and improves their quality of life. CASE STUDIES:
A study was done at Yiwu Central Hospital on 86 patients with IBD-D that was randomly divided into a control group and an observation group. The control group received herbal medicine three times a day over 30 days, and the observation group received herbal medicine (same as the control group) and acupuncture five times a week over 30 days. Results showed herbal medicine and acupuncture combined recovery rate was 34.9% with a total effective rate of 90.7% compared to recover rate of 18.6% and an overall effective rate of 79.1% for the control group.

My Dad saw an article in the paper for Natural Medicine and made an appointment for me to see Dr. Huang. My Name is Austin. I am 19 years old and I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2006 when I was 12 years old. Ulcerative Colitis (UC) is an Auto-Immune Disease that attacks the colon and causes severe diarrhea and bleeding.

In April 2008 I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. I was shocked and concerned due to my father having the same health issue. I had a very abnormal digestive process, bouts of diarrhea and lack of energy. I also felt bloated and weak. My food selection was limited. Different foods that I would eat would have an adverse affect on my digestive system. I always made sure I was close to a restroom. My condition was constantly on my mind and I wondered what the future held for me. Over all it was an unknown type of illness that would affect me down the road. My MD prescribed two different types of medications Entocort and Mercaptopurine. The treatments offered to me were medications and doctor visits. I was diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and gastritis a year ago. It started with skin rashes, and I began to see a dermatologist. I also had stomach aches, and my stomach got worse.
