I have been struggling with Systemic Sclerosis, also known as scleroderma, GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease), Anxiety, and Stress for about three years now. Systemic Sclerosis, an autoimmune disease, has particularly affected me as it causes the body to attack itself. In my case, inflammation of the esophagus, stomach pain, and constant heartburn.
Scleroderma can affect any part of the digestive system, from the esophagus to the rectum.
While I've experienced minor GERD since September 2017, it worsened significantly three years ago. I was constantly plagued by heartburn, stomach pain and chest pain, and I found myself burping all day. It began to affect every aspect of my life, from work to relationships. Socializing and going out to eat became incredibly difficult, and I couldn't even enjoy meals with my family.
Endoscopy confirmed the inflammation of the esophagus due to Systemic Sclerosis and GERD. The prescribed medications didn't help at all and I was feeling miserable. After my diagnosis, I felt lost and overwhelmed. Despite trying western medicine and acupuncture elsewhere, I didn't see much improvement. It was disheartening to realize that medications weren't providing the relief I so desperately needed.
In November 2023, I made my first visit to Dr. Huang's office after reading a testimonial from someone with my exact condition. I needed to see if it could help me too. At that point, I was simply hoping for some relief, anything to alleviate my symptoms. With the support of my family, especially my mom who had spoken with Dr. Huang and had faith in him from day one, I went in with hopeful optimism.

In 2013, I started to experience stomach pains that affected my ability to go out with family and friends. I visited my primary care doctor at Clinica Sagrado Corazon and they prescribed me with strong pain medication and Pepto-Bismol for my stomach. After taking the prescribed drug, it made me feel even worse than before. I experienced more pain, stress and had panic attack that prevented me from spending time with my children. I have suffered from anxiety, stress, insomnia and low energy for 6-7 years. My condition was work related. Everything was going downhill and my condition turned into health issues. I was always getting sick with flu like symptoms. The modern medicine doctors gave me drug medications, which only gave me temporary relief.
