I suffered from chronic lower back pain due to a herniated disc and my vertebrae pitched to one side. I was in chronic pain and everyday it was getting worse. I have always been a very active person. I would run everyday, play golf or play with the kids. This condition limited me, and it affected every part of my life in a negative way. I could not walk, sit, lie down, or sleep.

I went to the medical doctors and specialists, and they prescribed Vicodin, a pain killer, and Flexorl, a muscle relaxer. The drugs did not treat the problem and my condition just got worse.

At age nine I experienced my first migraine. I have been suffering from migraines for the last seven years. The past year was especially painful. I began to experience at least one migraine each week. The pain from the migraines intensified after receiving a concussion from football.

Since March 16, 2006, I suffered from shingles. The pain was horrible and I had blisters on my arm. I could not work and I was frustrated and scared. The drugs would relieve the pain for awhile, but the pain would come back. Since 1992, I started to go to the chiropractor, but the pain was still there and it did not work. The back pain was severe and I was not able to sleep or go up stairs. Before I was active, but because of the pain, I was not able to do much or work.

On May 16, 2005, I came to the Natural Medicine Center because I was hoping to get well. I did not really believe in natural medicine but my daughter would tell me about it. The testimonials encouraged me and my wife was very supportive of my decision to try natural medicine. The clinic is friendly, clean, nice and attentive. I was given acupuncture, herbal medicine and nutritional guidelines. The acupuncture treatments are painless, relaxing and was my naptime.

I started noticing improvements the 4th week of treatments. I got good results and my back pain is healing. I returned back to work and am now able to do my daily activities. Since 2013, I experienced stomach pain below my right rib and I also suffered from depression. I was frustrated. After an ultrasound and CT scan, they didn’t find anything - only mild fatty liver. The medical doctors offered me only drugs and they recommended me to eat less acids and certain foods. But the pain was still there from July 2013 to June 2014.

I was at my wits end and in so much pain for months. Doctors kept telling me to have surgery and that there would be a 10% chance after surgery of having incontinence. I left the doctors that day in tears. My beautiful daughter said, "Mom surgery should be your last choice. I have a good friend in Long Beach that does acupuncture and practices Eastern medicine, let me call her." She said she would be happy to see me, but would need to see me at least 3 times a week. Well being over an hour away would not work, so she was more than happy to refer me to Dr. Huang at Agape Acupuncture. I tell you, this was a total God thing.

I walked in and knew I was led there by the Holy Spirit. Dr. Huang is a wonderful Christian who gives God all the glory. I have never had a doctor pray over me. The peace and comfort comes over you and you know that you are in the right place.

After suffering for about three or four months, I began seeking to find some relief for my constant knee pain.  When I talked to my medical doctor, she seemed to attribute my knee pain as the natural process of aging and perhaps arthritis.  I began to feel discouraged because the things I enjoyed like walking my dog and going to gym classes seemed too difficult at best.  I remember seeing a story about a horse being treated with acupuncture and thought, if it works for a horse, it could work for me as well.  The next step was to find an acupuncturist.  I wanted to ask a friend at church for a referral but I didn’t see her and didn’t have her phone number.  Because I work full time it is difficult to travel a long distance for treatment.  A few weeks passed and the pain persisted and had even gotten worse.  I work in the Logo’s building across the street and was running an errand when I drove into the parking lot of the Ralph’s shopping center across the street.  I must have passed the sign and the office of Dr Huang at least fifty times without noticing it.  This particular day the sign seemed to pop out in front of my eyes as if it was magnified.  I saw Agape Acupuncture.  I couldn’t believe my eyes.  Acupuncture with the Greek name for Godly love.  Since I made that first call for an appointment and received acupuncture treatment, I’ve been able to resume my normal activities with no pain or discomfort.  When I get up from my chair at work, the stiffness just isn’t there.  The best part of all, is I don’t have to think about my knee anymore.  I am so grateful.  Thank you Dr. Huang and your wonderful staff, may God continue to bless you all.

After being on thyroid medication for more than 8 years, in late June I received blood work results advising me that my thyroid readings were not within the “normal” range and I would need to increase my thyroid medication.  Possible Autoimmune disorder issues were mentioned and after seeing firsthand the results Dr. Huang had achieved on a friend’s daughter, I decided to make an appointment and give his methods a try. I was also experiencing constant UTI’s and my doctor had wanted to have me tested for Cystitis, which is inflammation of the bladder.

Dr. Huang immediately changed my diet to a simple and pure diet with supplemental herbs and treatments three times a week.  Although I have always eaten a healthy diet, the specific changes while subtle, felt restrictive at first, but as my energy increased, my hopefulness also increased. Through bloodwork tests, coordinated with my regular doctor, Dr. Huang gradually weaned me off my thyroid medication and I feel healthier and have more energy than I have had in years.
