I came to get treatment mostly for my acne. My face was always so dry, and washing my face made it worse from all the chemicals and creams I would use. For my acne I used a lot of facial treatments, creams and pills. The creams caused my face to get very red, dry, and peeling. It was horrible with make-up as well. I would break out even worse. The treatments were not working at all! I kept looking for medical treatments that would be not so strong for my face since it was peeling already from the use of so much chemicals. I almost had laser removal but was too scared and I heard many people comment about it not working. My face kept drying and peeling. In addition to the acne, I was also feeling really lethargic – always wanted to sleep and had no energy for the most part. I wanted to do much more in a day but every time I would come home from work I was always going straight to bed to take long naps. By the time I was up from my nap, it was too late. I was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) 2 years ago and I have been struggling with acne and hormone problems for years. I had depression, fatigue, hair loss and my cycle was 19 days instead of 28 days. I had loss of sleep, weight loss, high testosterone (androgen) and an ovarian cyst burst. I was on antibiotics, bio-identical hormones, different natural remedies. I was prescribed hormone replacement, but it did not work for me. I also tried acne topical medications and a testosterone blocker. I was on birth control for 6 years. Afterwards, my body was out of whack. I had a little hope in the acne clearing up but I was discouraged about the PCOS. The acne was due to PCOS and it got worst when I got off the birth control. I was lethargic and stayed away from friends and events. At work, I was always tired and I also lost work due to ovarian cyst bursting. I was in and out of the hospital. I was completely exhausted in trying to end the acne, PMS and hormonal issues – nothing really helped me, except diet and exercise.

I suffered from fibromyalgia for over 7 years, and I was diagnosed with heel spurs 3½ years ago. It started on my heels and then it went to my hip. This condition affected every aspect of my life. It made me tired and made it difficult to care for a child and keep up the household. The pain and fatigue affected my work and socializing with friends and family. The pain was too much and I could not walk. I was tired all the time.
I went to the medical doctors and they did nerve testing and x-rays. They found large heel spurs on my left and right foot. They gave me cortisone shots which ultimately did not help me and I was in pain and had difficulty walking. There were no results from the cortisone shots.
On June 23, 2006, I came to the Agape Acupuncture, Inc. with the encouragement of my sister. I was interested in learning about natural medicine, but I have never tried it. I wanted to be alleviated of the constant pain and I hoped to be able to walk normally again without pain. I began receiving acupuncture treatments and taking herbal medicine.
