6 YEARS OF MIGRAINE HEADACHES

For 6 years, I had migraine headaches excessively. I had to lessen my activities and change my entire routine. I had nausea, vomiting, lightheadedness, hair loss, and cold sensations on the back of the neck. I had sensitivity to light and sound, and my condition made me really sensitive all around. I would have to go home from work a lot and I couldn’t do my daily routines. I couldn’t go to family events, or do any kind of physical activity such as dance or exercise. I couldn’t go out with friends, and I had to take lots of medications. My condition also caused mood swings and irritability.

From 2000-2004, I went to doctors and to the emergency room and was prescribed many drug medications. I took prescription and over the counter drugs. I took Imitrex everyday, Ibuprophen (800mg), and several others. I went to the neurologist and had several CAT scans and MRIs. There were no results from modern medicine, and the prescribed medications actually put me back into the hospital. They were only temporary solutions to a permanent problem. In 2004, I gave up and I just stayed home and took aspirins. I thought that my illness was something that I would have to live with.

In September 2006, I came to the Natural Medicine Center because what I had tried before didn’t help, and I saw positive results watching my family come in. I didn’t know about natural medicine but I was at ease. I began treatments with acupuncture and taking herbal medicine.

4 weeks into the treatments, I started feeling better - from having 2-3 migraines a day to having none at all. I no longer have to carry the Advil and the migraines are gone from everyday life. It is such a blessing to be able to live life. I felt my body being balanced and the herbal teas helped cleanse my system on a daily basis. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March of 2004. I could not believe it, and I didn’t want to die. I thought I was healthy, but I noticed that I would get tired easily and my bowel movements were once every 3 days. The diagnosis of cancer affected my work, home and personal life. I was in pain, I had depression and anxiety, and I could not do my regular activities. I thought of my family and me not being in their lives. I even thought about raising my insurance so that I could leave my kids financially stable. On April 5, 2004, the doctors gave me surgery to remove both breasts. They also prescribed drug medications and sleeping pills. The mastectomy was not a guarantee so they gave me chemotherapy as well. Given the suggestion to have both breasts removed, I went ahead with it, but I felt that I did more than what I should have done.

On April 12, 2004, my sister recommended me to the Natural Medicine Center. I had acupuncture, herbal medicine and was given nutrition guidelines. The acupuncture is painless and the herbal teas are bitter and strong but good for you. I hoped that natural medicine would help maintain my health through the chemotherapy sessions. The results were excellent. I started feeling better right away and I was fine after my first chemo. I had a total of 6 chemotherapy sessions, and after each session they would do blood work and everything was normal. The treatments also helped me because I didn’t lose all my hair, like facial. When I went back to the hospital, they were very surprised of the way I looked and felt. My family and friends were also very surprised of my results and the way I went through chemotherapy differently from other chemotherapy patients.

My energy is better and I have an improved quality of life. My vision is getting better and I don’t take any drugs, not even for headaches. I am able to sleep well and I do not suffer from depression or anxiety. I have been able to spend more time with my kids, socialize, and go back to work. I see life differently and I am closer to God. The Natural Medicine clinic is clean and peaceful. The staff is excellent, like family – very caring, nice and loving. I am very happy with Dr. Yeh and Dr. Huang, and I have faith in God and them. They help me see life differently, and now I will be able to see my grandkids. I was diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and gastritis a year ago. It started with skin rashes, and I began to see a dermatologist. I also had stomach aches, and my stomach got worse. Our patients, seen in the photos, suffered from Bell’s Palsy, which is a form of facial paralysis resulting from damage or trauma to one of the two facial nerves. The facial nerve, also called the 7th cranial nerve, is a paired structure that travels through a narrow, bony canal (called the Fallopian canal) in the skull, beneath the ear, to the muscles on each side of the face. Symptoms of Bell’s Palsy, which vary from person to person and range in severity from mild weakness to total paralysis, may include twitching, weakness, or paralysis on one or both side of the face, drooping of the eyelid and corner of the mouth, drooling, dryness of the eye or mouth, impairment of taste, and excessive tearing in one eye. “There was a peace that I had not experienced in a very long time.”

It was the summer of 2012 when I first began to see little red bumps developing on my legs. I had assumed that they were bug bites, and that they would disappear if left alone for a while. A few weeks later, these bumps had covered my legs and were starting to appear on all parts of my body. They were very itchy and would often blister, causing pain as well. The ones that appeared on my fingers were especially difficult to deal with, as they made simple acts such as carrying objects much harder.

I went to doctor, who recommended me to another doctor, who recommended me to a dermatologist. He gave me some ointment to put on my skin, but it didn't really seem to help much. I went to another dermatologist, who diagnosed it as eczema. I have a few friends who have eczema, but their symptoms seemed much different from mine, as I had blistered sores covering most of my body, making normal, everyday tasks very difficult. The new dermatologist gave me a different set of ointments to try. Although it helped with the sores, new ones would keep appearing.

After about eight months, I went to another doctor on my parent's recommendation. My skin didn't seem to be doing much better there, and I found myself relying on the ointments just to make it through the day and allow myself to sleep at night, even though I knew overuse would be bad for my skin in the long run.

I had just about run out of options when my pastor's wife sent me an email. Her friend had been treated by Dr. Kevin Huang and recommended him to me. Although I never understood much about acupuncture or natural medicine, I felt like it couldn't hurt to check it out, especially since this doctor was a Christian like me.

At first things were difficult — I was put on a strict diet when I was used to eating whatever I wanted. I had to go to bed early even though the itchiness made it hard to sleep, and I was told to exercise more. I was given a new cream — one that would not be damaging to my skin. However, after a few months, I noticed that the sores were disappearing at a much faster rate than new ones are appearing. After a few more months my skin was looking a lot healthier. Any sores that popped up disappeared quickly. I was able to do a lot of things that I had given up on. I could travel without worrying about how bad my skin would feel. I could wear clothes that were previously too uncomfortable on all the sores. I could take a shower without feeling very itchy afterwards. There was a peace that I had not experienced in a very long time.

I am very grateful to Dr. Huang for the treatments he gave me, as well as taking the time to get to know me and pray for me. As a fellow brother in Christ, I found the talks about our faith very encouraging, and it gave me a confidence that things would be okay. Thank God for the peace I feel and the comfort of being able to live daily life, and thanks to Dr. Huang for treating me and looking after my health.

I was diagnosed with stage 3 Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and had started treatment for chemotherapy. I was a believer in acupuncture and natural medicine and when I was approached by a friend who was also a patient of Natural Medicine Center and heard how others were being helped for cancer and having good results I was eager to find out how they could help me.

I went for a consultation with Dr. Huang and was impressed with the treatment that he suggested and as a Christian, I knew that going just with western medicine and putting poison in my body was not something I was comfortable doing. However, I knew that acupuncture and God's natural herbs could definitely help. I believed and had faith that God would see me through and felt comfortable in Dr. Kevin Huang's hands.  

Throughout my treatment with chemo and with the side effects that I was experiencing it really helped to have the natural treatment to help build my immune system and help with the pain, etc.

After treating with Dr. Huang for 3 months and having completed my chemo therapy my oncologist recommended a PET scan wherein they found that the cancer had gone into remission.

I praise God for his grace and goodness in healing me and allowing Dr. Huang to be used to bring the natural remedies that God has provided to us.

"Since starting with Dr. Huang, in 2015, I have actually experienced major relief in the symptoms. The tremors in my leg, hand, and lip have nearly ceased. In 2014, at the age of 72, I was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson's Disease. Along with acupuncture Dr. Kevin is treating me with herbs, diet change, and a three times a day walking schedule. I am feeling stronger and better. Soon, we are planning to come off of the low dosage blood pressure medication I have been taking for the last few years.

HOW IS ENDOMETRIOSIS TREATED WITH ACUPUNCTURE?

Endometriosis is a female medical disorder where the cells from the uterine lining (womb) grows in various parts in the body. Symptoms included infertility, irregular menstrual type bleeding, and pain. These cells are called endometrial cells and are removed from the lining of the Uterus (Endometrium) every month. In women with endometriosis tissue implants are located on the ovaries, bowel, bladder, rectum and the lining of the pelvic area and can occur in other areas of the body.  The tissue implants grow every time the woman gets her period and this causes pain and other discomfort. The endometrial cells in the uterus slough off during the normal menstrual cycle, in women with Endometriosis the tissue implants located outside the uterus stay in place.

ENDOMETRIOSIS SYMPTOMS:

The cause of this disorder in not known. It is suspected that the endometrial cells that are shed during your period travel backwards up the fallopian tubes into the pelvis where they implant and grow. This is called retrograde menstruation. This is a common this order that may run in the family. Endometriosis is usually diagnosed between age 25-35, however the condition may began when the normal period begins. Typically, a woman with a sister or mother whom has endometriosis is more likely to develop endometriosis.

Periods that last 7 or more days
A closed hymen, blocks the menstrual flow
Period started at a young age
No children

TREATMENT OF ENDOMETRIOSIS

Diagnostic test include pelvic exam and physical exam. Other diagnostics used are Pelvic Laparoscopy (less-invasive procedure than open surgery and recovery is quicker) and Transvaginal Ultrasound. Treatment depends on severity of symptoms, age, severity of symptoms, severity of disease and whether you want children. Some technics used to control pain are exercise and relaxation technics and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Prevention treatments used to stop symptoms from getting worse is birth control for 6-9 months to stop you from having a period to create a pseudo pregnancy.

Some hormonal treatments used are Progesterone injections and pills which have side effects of weight gain and depression and Gonadotropin-agonist medications. Surgery is recommended only if the individual do not want to have children in the future. This includes Pelvic Laparoscopy or Laparotomy; this procedure removed all endometrial implants and scar tissue. A Hysterectomy removes the womb (uterus), fallopian tubes, and both ovaries and gives the best chance of a cure. Not all women will have infertility. Those with milder symptoms may receive a Laparoscopy to remove scarring related to endometriosis and can improve their chances of becoming pregnant.

On August 6, 2012 I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. I was in shock and disbelief. I was not feeling myself for a long time. My husband died of cancer 14 years ago. All I could think of was what we went through and I thought “I can’t go through it again.” I thought about my family; especially my daughter. All we have is each other. I decided to fight. I went to the doctor and blood tests were done. They found out I was severely anemic, my hemoglobin was at a 5, and I was bleeding internally; which explained my lack of energy and motivation. Then they sent me to a Hematologist and he ordered more blood work, X-Rays, and a Ultrasound. Finally he ordered a CAT Scan. It revealed a huge mass on the left side against my abdomen cavity. The cancer had perforated the colon and began to grow and you could see it on the doctors face that they were like, “Wow! What are we dealing with here?” Right away they told me I would have to have transfusions.

He decided to keep me in the hospital overnight. This all happened in one afternoon; I had to call my daughter to let her know I was being admitted. She was in tears and shock, we never saw it coming. I will never forget the look on her face and what she said to me, “We are going to fight it and we are going to beat it!” I had a Colonoscopy 2 days later and discovered it was Stage 4 Colon Cancer. It affected every part of my life. I was not myself at all. I was depressed. All I wanted to do or could do was sleep. I had been feeling this way for a very long time - 5 years. I had no desire to do anything. I started bleeding internally and that’s when they found the cancer. I just was so exhausted. I would wake and I was already tired. I was just tired, tired, tired.

My daughter spread the word for prayer while sharing with a friend (a patient of Dr. Kevin Huang’s). She told her, "you must take your mom to Dr. Huang". I know he can help her! Immediately after Colonoscopy my daughter called Dr. Huang on her cell. Right after the Colonoscopy my daughter brought me here and it made me feel 100% better, and I actually got relieved when I got here. It was really peaceful and comforting. On August 6, 2012, I began treatments of acupuncture and herbal medicine. I really didn’t have any expectations. I just thought I would try it. I mean after all I was Stage 4. My daughters’ friend said you could trust him. What makes it better is that he’s a believer. He prayed with us and said I needed to start a diet change. I had acupuncture the same day. I could not believe the difference. You have to remember I was on my death bed and it felt good when I came here. I felt like a new person. I had so much energy and felt great. I also received 25 treatments of Chemotherapy and radiation together every day, while I was receiving acupuncture.

I had consultation for surgery on August 16th 2012. I was told it would be 6-8- hr surgery, I would need blood transfusions (due to my low hemoglobin), and more than likely I would have a Colostomy bag. A day prior to my surgery my hemoglobin was up to 9 (thank you Jesus and Dr. Huang). The night before the surgery, the surgeon called and said she felt comfortable doing the surgery without transfusions. All my other labs were also normal and that was due to acupuncture. I wasn’t taking any medications or anything. I underwent a 10-hr surgery Splenectomy, liver biopsy, 2 ribs removed and my diaphragm re-arranged. As soon as I came out of anesthesia, my Surgeon was so excited and with tears in her eyes she told me, “Great news honey! No colostomy bags and no transfusions! You did wonderful!” Praise God!

I was in the hospital 10 days. As soon as I was discharged my daughter brought me back to Dr. Huang. I was weak and frail, still had 4 drain tubes and could barely walk. I felt so at peace and energized physically and mentally every time we came here. Dr. Huang always prayed with us and his staff is so caring. (Love you girls) My daughter continued to faithfully bring me to the treatments. December, I started my chemotherapy and radiation treatments. I truly believe the acupuncture help you cope with the chemotherapy and radiation. At the end of the treatments they did blood work and a CAT Scan and found that I was cancer free! It has been a year, cancer free. And I still continue with my acupuncture treatments. I thank God, Dr Huang and his loving and kind staff for saving my life. I am truly a miracle!

I just remember sitting in the waiting room waiting to receive my treatments of Chemotherapy and radiation and the looks on the people’s faces were sad and they complained of nausea and all the complications they were having and I just remember being so grateful to be coming here. I wouldn’t say I was a firm believer before coming here. I knew of natural medicine but I just never had the opportunity to try it. I really enjoy the way he prays with you first before the acupuncture treatments. I’ve never seen anybody like that before – just right in the open he just prays for you. One day he just got right down on his knees and prayed. I will never forget this. After the first treatment I was so energetic. I came everyday for almost a week prior to my surgery. I literally left here jumping and skipping. There isn’t one day that I have come here and I leave feeling sad. I leave feeling uplifted. It helped me cope better mentally and emotionally.

In every way this recovery has affected life! I love coming here. Dr. Huang doesn’t only heal your body, he heals your body and soul. This place is truly a miracle. All the staff are wonderful, loving, and caring - like family. I just feel so incredibly blessed and I could never say thank you enough. Words can’t say it. I mean he literally saved my life. After the first treatment I was ready to hop on out of here and I had energy! It was not just physical; it was mental because he gave me so much hope. I didn’t expect to get these results.

My friends and family were really amazed and in disbelief. They saw other patients go through what I went through without the treatments. There’s a little piece of Heaven here on Earth. There’s so many hurting people that don’t have to be hurting. It’s like the gospel, and some believe and some don’t. Daily I share about Dr. Huang and I’ve handed out so many cards. “It was just a matter of time. Then in February my symptoms hadn’t come back and I kept fighting everyday to avoid the vertigo from coming back.”

It all started in March 2012, when I was at work and noticed I was feeling a bit dizzy. I had no idea what it was. I’m a person that has a proper diet and live a productive healthy lifestyle. As I sit in my break room just thinking about the last thing I ate that made me feel dizzy and thought, that couldn’t of been it. My dad had picked me up from work as I couldn’t function anymore. As I get to my house I couldn’t stop vomiting and was feeling miserable with a painful headache. I fell asleep and woke up 3 hours later and it was gone. I had no idea what it could have been but I continued my day normally as I do every other day. Then about a month later on April I felt the same exact feeling as I did the month before. My dad had to pick me up from work and had to go home again. As I continue to live a productive healthy lifestyle I wouldn’t get it again for another 2 months and got it a few times in July and several times in August, September and October. I was feeling miserable and thought it was an early sign that maybe my life was coming to an end. I went ahead to do my own research as to why I was getting dizzy a lot. I was googling all of my symptoms and it was due to an inner ear problem.

I went to Mexico in September to get further treatment. I went to see an ENT (ear, nose, and throat) doctor and saw that I had some sort of rupture in my ear due to some injury that I had as a child. He then sent me to an audio specialist to do a few testings on my ear. After 2 hours were tested I got the results and went back to my ENT doctor and as he reads the results he sees that I have been diagnose with Meniere’s disease. This disease includes recurring episodes of vertigo, hearing loss, ringing in the ear (tinnitus), fullness in the ear, and nausea. My doctor also told me to have a very restricted diet as to not have any high amounts of salt, sugar, artificial sweeteners, alcohol and caffeine. He said by eliminating or reducing these foods I may reduce my symptoms. The doctor then prescribed me few medications. As I take the medication I felt a like it was going away slowly and maybe lasted about 2 weeks as all of my symptoms came back. I did not know what to do anymore as I thought I had done everything possible to cure my disease. As I spoke with other people via online with Meniere’s disease they had told me that it’s a disease that I would have to live with for the rest of my life and to know what foods I’m eating as to what could been triggering me to get vertigo. After having a restricted diet I was still getting the symptoms and at this point was lost and didn’t know what to do anymore.

Then my sister who works at Natural Medicine Acupuncture and herbs told the doctor about my symptoms. The doctor wanted to see me and have a consultation and talk to him about my symptoms. He then said he can help me with a positive tone and not to worry because he’s had patients in the past with Meniere’s disease and was able to help them before and could help me if I follow a simple program. He wanted to see me 3 times a week for an acupuncture visit and to take the herbs he provides everyday 2 times a day. So I decided to take the program which at this point I was desperate for anything to cure my disease. On November 2, 2012 was my first day of the program. After week I felt like it was going away slowly. On the 2nd week everything was going fine and I felt like my symptoms where going away slowly. Then in December my symptoms came back. Every time my symptoms would come back it would last about 12 hours. The doctor then told me not to worry as I should keep taking my herbs every day and keep eating healthy. My symptoms disappear and came back on January and got them several times and the doctor told me to not worry as he would be doing his best to cure me. I kept fighting and I knew if I keep following with the treatment I know it would disappear soon.

It was just a matter of time. Then in February my symptoms hadn’t come back and I kept fighting everyday to avoid the vertigo from coming back. It is now July and my symptoms have not returned. The doctor has done everything he can to help my disease. He was very positive he can help me and was not going to give up until it was gone. It has been more than 5 months since my last vertigo and I continue each day to fight and live a healthier life. With the power of God and Dr. Huang anything can be done.

God gave me a divine appointment with Agape Acupuncture!  I was visiting family in the OC area for two weeks after needing a break from the war in my country, Israel. When I came to Dr. Huang and the team at Agape Acupuncture, I was only looking for an herbal pharmacy where I could buy an herbal tincture that was helping me to keep a recurring throat infection from taking over my health. After multiple ineffective rounds of antibiotics, the infection was still present in a weaker state in my body, waiting to take over and make me sick. While it was not curing the infection, the tincture was helping to keep me functioning, especially with all the stress I was under.

After my initial consultation, Dr. Huang diagnosed me with multiple bacterial and viral infections, which he believed could be healed with a combination of herbs and acupuncture.  After my first acupuncture treatment, I felt a surge of energy and healing in my body! I was shocked! After the third treatment, I felt a bit of the symptoms return, but the difference is that my body was now able to fight them on its own. After six treatments, I was completely healed! I have not had any of the former symptoms come back and I have a higher energy level than I've had in years.

4-5 years ago, I was diagnosed with the Epstein Barr Virus (EBV) and Lupus and I suffered the whole time. In 2000, I had a vaginal hysterectomy and a platelet issue and almost died. In 2004, I came down with a kidney infection and almost died and went home with a PICC (Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter) line inserted through a vein in the arm for 2 weeks. I suffered from chronic fatigue, severe heart pain, bone pain with severe inflammation, severe lower back pain, and weight gain. I couldn't do anything and I lived on the couch. It was horrible and I thought that I was dying. I also had mononucleosis at the same time. I couldn't use my muscles to walk or move. I had so much swelling. Everything slowed down.

I sought the help of a cardiologist, bone doctor and went to a fibromyalgia clinic and also to UCLA. I took every drug known to man including Provastatin, Prilosec, Amiloride, Hydrochlorothiazide, Hectorol, and I had IV treatments. They gave me diabetes medication and had me drinking calcium. They were horrible. I had the shakes and low blood pressure. I had migraines, I couldn't see, and I was getting weaker plus having bone pain. As a result of all this, I ended up on Nitroglycerin tabs. I thought I was having complications from all the medications while getting worse. I was told there was no cure for me, but only manage me.

On March 10, 2011, I came to see Dr. Kevin Huang at Agape Acupuncture and go the natural alternative way so that I could at least function. I made this decision the day I went to UCLA and a liver specialist said "You have a fatty liver". I wanted relief for my autoimmune condition Lupus and my husband was a bit skeptical that no one could help me, but my friends and family were supportive. When I came here, the clinic was very peaceful. I felt there is a mission here - God's mission. I was treated with acupuncture and herbs and I love it. It's gentle. It treats the whole body, not just the symptoms. The herbs helped what was weak - my liver, kidneys and heart.

I am absolutely ecstatic about the results. There is no doubt in my mind that I am a walking testimony. I'm off the couch and exercising 60 minutes a day. I started feeling better when the swelling started going away. It's been awesome. I'm back to gardening, knitting, playing the piano, exercising, cooking, traveling and visiting my grandkids. The clinic is warm, welcoming and pleasant and the staff is very helpful. I have referred a girlfriend here also; her mom died of ovarian cancer and she has a lot of infections. Since 2013, I experienced stomach pain below my right rib and I also suffered from depression. I was frustrated. After an ultrasound and CT scan, they didn’t find anything - only mild fatty liver. The medical doctors offered me only drugs and they recommended me to eat less acids and certain foods. But the pain was still there from July 2013 to June 2014.
