Since 1995, I have had problems with my liver and gallbladder. I had gallbladder stones, and I was told by the surgeon that my gallbladder needed to be removed. I was shocked to hear that, and I did not want surgery. I fought these conditions for years, but in August, 2006, it became really bad and I was scared at one point. I had severe pain and fever, and I felt really bad overall.

For many years, I have had bone spurs and a foot problem. A year and a half ago, a car accident damaged my knee. 7 months ago I found out I had a torn Meniscus. I was upset but glad I found out what it was. I couldn’t walk because of the pain and I couldn’t walk far without having to sit and rest. I could not carry anything because of the pressure on my knee. Any type of family outing - I had to use a wheel chair. I just had a lot of pain constantly. I was given Cortisone shots in my foot. I had physical therapy, which didn’t help. I was prescribed Codeine and Vicodin and I took about 16 Ibuprofen a day. I was also given the option of possible surgery. From November 2010 to January 2011 – nothing from modern medicine really helped me and the treatment results were negative.

Since 2004, I have had severe pain in my hip. I went to different physical therapists. I took drug medications from my MD, which caused stomach irritations. During this time, the pain began to travel upward to my neck and head, which made it difficult for me to move my neck. This pain affected everything. I got scared of these medications because I knew that I didn’t have that sickness. There were no results and the same pain was still there. I decided to go to the Natural Medicine Center and my aunt, Teresa Ramirez, recommended me.

I came to Natural Medicine Center on January 7, 2011. My expectations were pretty low and I was skeptical. I did not have much hope, but my friends and family were supportive. I suffered from severe back pain due to a herniated disc from a back injury on August 2, 2002. I thought that I would be in pain for the rest of my life and be on pain killers forever. I was not able to work since the injury and I was not able to go out. I could not lift anything, clean my house, or fix my meals. I could not sit for a very long time and I was in bed most of the time because of the pain. Socially it affected me a lot since the injury and I was very lonely.

I went to the orthopedic doctor who wanted to shoot my back with steroids and I didn’t want that. The doctor put me on pain killers and Effexor, which made me sleep and I was not able to make any logical decisions or thoughts. I also had chiropractic work done, which gave me some relief but didn’t get rid of the pain. And because I have arthritis, it made the pain worse. The results were not good.

On August 30, 2004, I came to the Natural Medicine Center. I looked it up in the yellow pages and the clinic was close to home. I wanted to be pain free and able to sit for a long period of time without pain. I did not tell anyone I was coming here except my grandsons and one is a medical student and he was very supportive. They both thought it was a wonderful idea.

I received acupuncture treatments which were wonderful and relaxing. I felt better almost immediately and I was able to cut down on the pain medications. The results were excellent. I have no pain, I have more energy, and I am able to sit. I take no pain pills now. I can fix my own food, sit in a chair, cross my legs, walk straight, and go up and down stairs. I am able to clean my house and able to take the trash out. I got my life back.

The clinic is very nice and comfy and the staff is marvelous and kind – you have angels working here. I am very happy with the results and I would refer others to the Natural Medicine Center. It has been a wonderful experience. Thank God I found Kevin!

I never heard about natural medicine so I didn’t know what to expect. I received acupuncture, herbal medicine, herbal tablets, knowledge, information, and encouragement. This combination of treatment all makes sense.

The results are great! Within a month, the migraines are gone and I have improved 100%. I have my life back and I feel free. I am not a slave to my headaches anymore and I can do and plan things that were limited before. My energy is up and my outlook on life is better. The staff is very caring, honest and encouraging. They are knowledgeable and explained every step and informed me.

For 20 years, I suffered with migraine headaches. The migraines were every month, lasting 3 days like clock work. It was awful because I knew what was coming. God is good and in the business of healing, even in our modern times. In September of 2010 I was diagnosed with kidney cancer. I was told I needed surgery ASAP. Ten days later the surgeon removed one kidney. The doctor told me I was healed, however, in April 2011 a new CT scan revealed three new cancer spots, now on my pancreas. At this time I started to look into natural solutions.

The Lord led me to Agape Natural Health. I am convinced it is the work of the Lord. I live 55 miles away and we have many doctors who practice acupuncture in our area. When my wife and I met Dr. Huang and his office staff for the first time we were convinced that this was the place we needed to come for help.

I started in May of 2011 with acupuncture, herbs and Dr. Huang gave me advice on diet and exercise. My life has changed drastically. My food intake is entirely different from what it was before, including a much more fruit and vegetables and a much healthier lifestyle overall.

In July of 2011 a new CT scan revealed that the cancer spots had disappeared. This was also true for the next several CT scans. I am on medication from the regular doctor, however, the oncologist is surprised by the progress I am making. In our last visit she told me I was in complete remission and the side effects of the medicine are minimal.

I believe this would not have been the same without Dr. Huang and his staff of dedicated people. One of the great things of this office is that Dr. Huang prays with his patients. I look forward to that moment every time I come and gain strength and courage from the idea that a doctor cares enough to pray and be personally involved in my life.

The acupuncture cancer patient found Agape Acupuncture and although the clinic was almost 60 miles from their home, they felt that they should come visit the clinic. The patient came to the clinic and started acupuncture. Dr. Kevin Huang offered the acupuncture cancer patient dietary and exercise guidelines to help the patient live a healthier life. In August 2010, I was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and it spread to my liver. In September 2010 I had surgery to remove the tumor. My eyes were yellow. I felt like I was hit by a train at 200 mph and this illness changed my life completely. It affected my state of mind knowing that the outcome for 95% of the people with this same disease die within the first year. I was a very active person with interests for doing different things. It was like someone came and extinguished my light for life. I no longer had an interest to keep going forward. In October 2010 I had Whipple surgery (also known as pancreaticoduodenectomy - this procedure involves removal of the head of the pancreas next to the first part of the small intestine. It also involves removal of the duodenum, a portion of the common bile duct, gallbladder, and a portion of the stomach. Surgeons then reconnect the remaining intestine, bile duct, and pancreas.) From April 2011 – August 2012 I was put on chemotherapy. The side effects from Chemotherapy were numbness in my feet, nausea, and sores in my mouth. It was really bad and painful. The Chemotherapy was supposed to wipe out the tumor but it grew.

Two years ago, I came to see Dr. Kevin Huang. But I was skeptical and didn’t trust natural medicine, so I decided to do the Whipple surgery and Chemotherapy instead. The drugs and surgeries failed and my cancer went from Stage 1 to Stage 3 and it spread to the liver. From May 2012 to August 2012, CT Scan report and scientific instruments showed that the tumor grew, and it was now attached to the artery. The tumor was life-threatening and inoperable. On August 23, 2012, I decided to come back to Dr. Huang and start acupuncture treatments and herbs. I came because I knew someone with a tumor in her pancreas and she had received acupuncture and her tumor shrank 17 ml. I stopped Chemotherapy completely and was on natural medicine only from August 2012 to October 2012. During the treatments, Dr. Huang was very supportive through his knowledge and so was the medical staff at Agape Acupuncture, Inc. However, I remained skeptical and negative about recovery because this disease is very silent. I thought for sure I was getting worse and going to die. Dr. Huang told me to base things on fact and not on feeling and to wait for the next CT Scan and lab tests.

On October 30, 2012, my new CT Scan report and scientific instruments confirmed that my tumor shrank nearly 50% one dimension one side. It went from 37mm to 20mm from August 15, 2012 to October 12, 2012. The UCI Oncologist Chief Surgeon confirmed that the tumor shrank and it separated from the artery. Now there is an option for surgery and there are no new lesions. Seeing the results on paper that my tumor had shrank brought me comfort and my state of mind was renewed somewhat. My tumor is not completely gone but I feel I am on the right path. The fact that my tumor has shrunk has been the best news since my diagnosis.

I wasn’t a firm believer in natural medicine before coming here and I wasn’t sure that acupuncture would help. I see light at the end of the tunnel. Natural medicine helped reduce my tumor. The evidence is the proof. I have more energy and I lost weight. My friends and loved ones are happy for me, and I have already referred someone to Agape Acupuncture. I didn’t expect these results but I cannot deny what natural medicine can do. It has been around for over 2,000 years. You have to come here with faith and give it a try. I was diagnosed with eczema and migraine headaches at 13 years old. I suffered with this condition for 9 years and felt nervous that it would effect my skin my whole life. The headaches limited me where I could not go to work. The migraine headaches caused extreme nausea, and I was very light and sound sensitive. It caused me to be sick and it was hard to talk with people or focus on anything. The eczema made my skin extremely itchy. I could not wear clothes that I wanted. I had sleeplessness at night from the irritation and it bothered me daily at work.

I went to several Dermatologists for the eczema and the treatments of topical and steroid based ointments typically lasted 3 months. The eczema would go away for only short amounts of time and then come back. The creams always irritated my skin, caused extreme burning and dried out surrounding areas not affected by eczema.

We go to church with Dr. Huang and I began coming to Agape Acupuncture, Inc. in September 2012. I hoped to start a healthier life and that my eczema and headaches would be no longer. My family was very supportive! My friends were slightly weary but quickly saw the results and are no longer skeptics. I did not understand natural medicine and everything it treated. “As the pain diminished, I began to notice other symptoms of irritability, tiredness and short term memory issues were disappearing.”

After the delivery of our first child, I was unable to urinate. I left the hospital with a catheter and it was 10 days, 7 catheters later before I could urinate on my own. When I did, I had a tremendous amount of pain each time, as if I had a urinary tract infection. I struggled with this for 3 years.

Doctors ruled out urinary tract infections and ran multiple tests, MRIs etc. The treatments I tried included multiple rounds of antibiotics, antidepressants, physical therapy, biofeedback and a recommendation of surgical implantation of a neurotransmitter to turn off the nerves on my bladder. I was not ready for surgery and asked the Lord for guidance.

I had passed Agape Acupuncture regularly and decided to give acupuncture a try. I was skeptical and shared that with Dr. Huang during my consultation. He offered empathy and reassurance that God could heal me. I decided to give it a try as I did not want to undergo surgery.

The staff welcomed me and put me at ease. After two weeks of treatments and taking herbs I began to feel a reduction in the pain I had grown so accustomed to. As the pain diminished, I began to notice other symptoms of irritability, tiredness and short term memory issues were disappearing. My pain level had been at an 8 and over time moved down to a 2. I was so grateful I found natural medicine that I brought in my children to heal their eczema and colds. I even got my husband to come in after a month long battle with lower back pain – he is free of that too.

“I’ve come to Natural Medicine Center (NMC) over the years for my wife when she’s gone through a few different medical issues (mainly endometriosis, hypothyroidism) and when my cholesterol levels were crazy (over 400), I came in. PSORIASIS SYMPTOMS

Plaque Psoriasis is a widespread type of psoriasis. It characterized by thick plaque, patchy, red rashes. The rashes are oval to circular in shape; with white, silvery scales. Psoriasis often shows up on the lower back, elbows, scalp and knees. Instead of fighting off invading pathogens, the immune system causes an inflammatory response and hyper proliferation of the skin cells occurs. The “T-cells” (white blood cells) become hyperactive attacking the skin; this causes the skin cells to multiply rapidly and they begin to form on the epidermis (surface layer of skin). Healthy skin cells develop, mature and every 30 days slough off. With plaque psoriasis, this process is 3-6 days; which causes the thick plaque formation of the skin cells. T-cells also form chemicals that heal the skin. These cells produce an unusual amount of the chemicals and result in more inflammation in the skin and joints. Psoriasis can appear like other skin conditions and this makes diagnosis of the disease difficult. A skin sample is taken and examined under a microscope.

TREATMENT USING MODERN MEDICINE

Management of psoriasis includes topical corticosteroids which aid as anti-inflammatory agents. These drugs suppress the immune system to slow down the growth of skin cells. Here are a few drugs used to treat Plaque Psoriasis;  Anthralin, Vitamin D analogues, topical retinoids, calcineurin inhibitors.  Methotrexate (also used to slow down cells that are rapidly growing in the body such as cancer cells, bone marrow cells and skin cells) is one of the oral drugs used in treating Plaque Psoriasis. Some side effects of this drug are nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, dizziness, tired feeling, headaches, bleeding gums and blurred vision.  Although these drugs aid in the production of normal skin proliferation and are prescribed in various doses there are some side effects such as – photosensitivity (topical agents). UVB Therapy and Psoralen (oral) is a form of light therapy and oral drug to increase sensitivity to UVB light. This form of therapy is used to kill T-cells, which are the white cells invading the affected are of the skin causing inflammation. Precaution must be taken to ensure there is no sun burn in the areas the medication is applied.  

ACUPUNCTURE TO BENEFIT PSORIASIS

Acupuncture causes the anti-inflammatory mechanisms to release and it reduces the redness associated with psoriasis. Acupuncture also reduces stress and anxiety which are triggers of psoriasis. Acupuncture is also safe because disposable sterile needles are used in the treatment of acupuncture. Also, there are no harmful or discomforting side effects such as those listed above for the treatment of psoriasis. There are also topical herbal creams and herbal supplement that can be used in the treatment of psoriasis and all are prescribed by a licensed acupuncturist. All herbs should be taken under the care of a Licensed Acupuncture to ensure maximum results and compliance. Natural medicine is used to treat the root of the disease and not the symptomatic manifestations of the underlying cause.

CASE STUDIES

The direction of treatment is to try and contain or deactivate T-cells that are causing the hyper proliferation in the skin.  What triggers the activation of T-cells is not well understood.  UVB light therapy and Psoralen (PUVB) is becoming a popular form of treatment for psoriasis. Just as there are side effects to oral drugs to manage Psoriasis studies show there is a risk for squamous cell cancer (SCC) and basal cell cancer (BCC).

In October 2013, I went to soccer practice and the next morning I woke up with Bell’s Palsy. I wasn’t working because of a bone fracture and when I started work again this happened. My life was different because I didn’t feel half of my face. I stopped doing sports. I never heard about something like this and it was terrible. I go to the doctor and he tells me it’s Bell’s Palsy. The doctor told me to protect the eye because I couldn’t close it. The doctor prescribed B12 Vitamins and Vital Supplements because they were thinking I had a virus. He said take the vitamins and I’ll see you next week. But I didn’t go a second time. I started taking the supplements and I stopped the same day because my friend told me about acupuncture.

I asked my friends what’s the best way to treat it and my wife’s friend said acupuncture and 6 days later I was here. November 7, 2013 I started coming to Agape Acupuncture. The website on the internet prompted me to come here. I checked the website and there were testimonials of others with Bell’s Palsy. I expected everything to be ok and 100%! I was a firm believer in natural medicine before coming here and my friends and family were supportive. My mom always takes natural medicine and that’s why I know it helps people.
