When I was in Kindergarten, my parents noticed my face and legs swell up from water retention. After visiting a doctor, they said I had childhood onset, minimal change nephrotic syndrome.
My mom, being the research-warrior that she is, decided to take me to Agape Natural Health, and commit to a natural medicine regime: very limited sugar and salt in my foods, juicing and clean foods, plus acupuncture and herbs. I was young and couldn’t swallow the herbs yet, so we got creative and ground them up with a mortar and pistol and mixed them into applesauce.
About two years of acupuncture treatment from Dr. Huang and the staff at Agape Natural Health and lots of prayer from family and friends, I was miraculously healed. Up until that point, my body showed no signs of healing, but about three years after the diagnosis, my nephrotic syndrome completely disappeared.
July of 2017 marked the five year checkpoint without a relapse, so I was officially released from nephrotic care at CHOC Children’s hospital, the hospital that diagnosed my condition in the first place.

I was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia on my lower left jaw in January 2017, It was the most painful thing I have ever felt to a point that I can’t talk, eat and brush my teeth. The pain started back in December 2016, at first I thought it was a toothache coming from tooth crown. I suffered from trigeminal neuralgia and headaches on and off for over 5 years. I knew there wasn’t a cure. It began because my body was weakened and stressed. I had been treated for cancer 14 years ago and had surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, which contributed to the weakening of my body.
When the neuralgia flare-ups occurred, I had a faint pain over the left side of my face and head. At its worst, I have been incapacitated for 3 to 4 days in bed and I wouldn’t be able to function. Headaches would continue for 4 to 6 weeks and residual headaches made it hard to concentrate. I saw an internist who wanted me to take anti-seizure medication. I took drugs including Motrin, none of which helped, and I tried to let it ride out. Western medicine is not successful in treating trigeminal neuralgia.
On January 18, 2005, I came to the Natural Medicine Center. I was in a lot of pain and was led here one day for a reason. I have always believed in complimentary or alternative medicine, and I knew that I was going to get relief.
