I first started treating with Dr. Huang due to multiple injuries including back, shoulders, carpal tunnel, ulner nerve injuries, Epstein-Barr and fibromyalgia. I was in extreme pain, could barely walk and was unable to work for a couple of years. No western medicine dr had helped including surgery. 5 Star Review by V.B., Yorba Linda, California:  I came to Agape Acupuncture (literally in tears) from a bout of insomnia where I would wake up around 2 AM or earlier and not be able to get back to sleep. As a mother of two little ones this was very difficult and was taking a great toll mentally and physically. I was experiencing extreme fatigue and brain fog. I had already been diagnosed previously with adrenal fatigue the prior year and am on a specific detox/nutrition program, but the insomnia is a whole new beast. I’m a firm believer in natural medicine, herbs, and food as medicine but it takes a skilled healer(s)  to apply these with good results. Plus everyone’s body is unique.

Dr. Huang ran a simple diagnostic and was not surprised by the symptoms I was having based on the test results. Various organ systems were way out of balance. He prescribed a treatment plan and was quite confident that it could be of great help but would take time.

I am three months into my treatment plan with acupuncture and can say my sleep has improved 80% and keeps on improving. Ironically, I often fall asleep during a treatment as they are so relaxing! The rooms are very clean and calming.  I still hit a few bumps in the road, but those days are becoming fewer so that tells me healing is occurring. Adrenal fatigue doesn’t happen overnight, so I don’t expect overnight healing.

You can tell Dr. Huang cares a great deal for his patients as does his staff.  I believe Dr. Huang and Agape Acupuncture were an answer to prayer in my healing journey. He is Christian and gives God the glory for healing. He uses the wisdom of Eastern Medicine to treat the whole body.
I will definitely be recommending Agape Acupuncture to friends and family.

I had to put it on like a t-shirt or twist it around like a pre-teenage girl to the front! Thank God for this Man, very gentle very assuring, thinks he can cure me from diabetes, thyroid, and back pain, I’m willing to give him a chance, price but my health is not negotiable! and since I have been paying the Chiro for so long, what a waste of money that turned out to be!! Only thing is… every time I get acupuncture, I also get my period, does this happen to anyone else? I was not due for another 2 weeks!! This would be the only negative!!

5 Star Review by Debbie K., Tustin, California: I cannot say enough of good things about this center.   The staff is corteous and the place is clean.  Dr. Kevin has helped me a lot in the last 10 years.  I have had health problems where I went to Western medical doctor and he or she could only just do so much.  Then, I go to this center and Dr. Kevin helped me further with pain, injury, and internal system problems.

About 10 years ago, I had a tennis elbow.  A simple problem, right?  Nah!  I went to a Western medical doctor and was given pain killers and muscle relaxers.  It only temporarily relieved the pain but the problem got worse that I could not sleep at night.  I went to a physical therapy and was given a warm ultra sound and massage.  After months, the problem didn’t go away and I was more sleep deprived.  It became so bad that I could not open a water bottle.  I decided to bite the bullet and spent a lot of money (since Western Medical insurance won’t pay) and after 20 acu treatments this problem disappeared until today.

Then, I had a problem with digestion and had so much stomach acids produced inside.  A western doctor did a test and told me about this.  He gave me drugs to reduce the production of acid.  Only when I took the drug that it worked.  If I stopped the drug, the problem came back.  I don’t want to take drug every day because it is bad for my kidney and liver.  So I asked Dr. Kevin for herb and acupuncture treatment.  I had about 12 weeks of treatment and the problem disappeared. I don’t have to take the drugs again.

Now, moving forward to June 2012, I had a major knee injury.  I broke my knee cap into 2.  I had a major surgery where an orthopedic surgeon put it together with 4 screws.  I had about 6 months of physical therapy.  The pt helped a lot but I still have a lot of pain 6 months after the surgery.  When the weather got cold I suffer.  When I walked too far, my knee was in pain and stiff.  I was not able to walk like a normal people and was afraid that people will run me over when I am in the crowd because I walked to slow.  I walked with a cane.  Orthopedic released me from his care of treatment but my knee was still not recovered completely.  Maybe he thought that eventually it would recover.   My knee was still swollen big from the scar tissues of the injury.   I decided to take my own health problem into my own hands and again bite the bullet to spend a lot of money to have acupuncture treatments and herbs.  After about 10 acu treatments, I didn’t have to walk with a cane anymore.   The pain was gone.  The swelling and bumps on my knee reduced.    I walk normal now and not afraid to face the crowd.  Although I still have some left over scar tissues and still need to have more treatments and still in treatments.  It was a major injury after all.   But week by week, my knee improved.  My knee may not go back to normal ever again but I don’t have any pain.

The herbs work if they are taken regularly.  It is not like western drugs that you take pills and the pain is gone (but it will come back again).  The herbs helped for our own body to heal naturally from the inside.  I take herbs for my knee and I believe that the herbs that I took regularly for 3 months helped me to break down the scar tissues around my knee so the pain and swelling eventually are gone.  The effect was not immediate but it was over time. The process of healing is slow with acupuncture and herbs but I learned that the healing stayed more permanently than using drugs. There are other female internal system problems that Dr. Kevin helped me but I don’t feel comfortable discussing the details.

I was already vegan before I walked into this clinic.  It was a coincidence that he recommends a vegan diet for his patients while in treatments.  I like this place more because of it.  He only recommends the vegan diet while patients are in treatment so it is not so bad.  He did recommend ‘no coffee’ for me.  I reduced drinking a lot of coffee anddo feel better.  Although I love coffee but I tried to listen to him.  Coffeecan be bad, too, I guess.  We are what we eat and if we want to be healthy I guess we need to put the healthy stuff inside.

I was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) 2 years ago and I have been struggling with acne and hormone problems for years. I had depression, fatigue, hair loss and my cycle was 19 days instead of 28 days. I had loss of sleep, weight loss, high testosterone (androgen) and an ovarian cyst burst. I was on antibiotics, bio-identical hormones, different natural remedies. I was prescribed hormone replacement, but it did not work for me. I also tried acne topical medications and a testosterone blocker. I was on birth control for 6 years. Afterwards, my body was out of whack. I had a little hope in the acne clearing up but I was discouraged about the PCOS. The acne was due to PCOS and it got worst when I got off the birth control. I was completely exhausted in trying to end the acne, PMS and hormonal issues – nothing really helped me, except diet and exercise.

My dad and boyfriend knew it would help me and some of my friends were surprised that acupuncture worked. I would refer others there and I have referred my mom and dad already. I always knew natural medicine was the best. In my opinion modern medicine only alleviates the symptoms and in event other symptoms will come. Start by eating right. Acupuncture is the extra boost to keeping healthy.

Patient is currently going through chemotherapy along with acupuncture cancer support with Natural Medicine Center.  She is making great improvements while she struggles with the side-effects of chemotherapy.  We are complementing her with acupuncture cancer support.  The chemotherapy medications’ side-effects the patient is on are known to have cardiotoxicity and that would lower the left ventricular ejection fraction and increase the risk of heart failure.

Patient had left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) test done before starting for the first time chemotherapy and the result was 56.2% on 11-13-12where above 55% is considered normal range.  Patient has been receiving chemotherapy at Kaiser and acupuncture breast cancer support with us here at Natural Medicine Center at the same time and the results came from Kaiser on 2-26-13 almost 3 months of chemotherapy along with acupuncture breast cancer support where the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) was greatly improved to 72%!  It was a great result where the patient’s ejection fraction improved with acupuncture breast cancer support and not decrease as was expected by her other doctors due to the chemotherapy.

We would love to share and inform cancer patients on the benefits of acupuncture in their battle with cancer. We have had a lot of clinical experience in helping to support cancer patients.

The National Cancer Institute at the National Institute of Health website has a compilation of human clinical studies that shows that the effects of acupuncture on immune function were beneficial to enhance and help regulate immune functions of cancer patients. Further studies shows that acupuncture for cancer improved the quality of life for patients by decreasing side effects of chemotherapy, and helped to decrease the cancer-related pain. Studies also showed acupuncture helped post-operation surgical pain to decrease.

The National Cancer Institute studies also showed many convincing benefits with acupuncture for cancer related nausea and vomiting induced by chemotherapy. One study also showed that acupuncture can relieve radiation-induced nausea and vomiting. Another area of improvement from the studies was vasomotor symptoms such as hot flashes and night sweats from postmenopausal women with breast cancer and prostate cancer patients

I suffered from trigeminal neuralgia and headaches on and off for over 5 years. I knew there wasn’t a cure. It began because my body was weakened and stressed. I had been treated for cancer 14 years ago and had surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, which contributed to the weakening of my body.

When the neuralgia flare-ups occurred, I had a faint pain over the left side of my face and head. At its worst, I have been incapacitated for 3 to 4 days in bed and I wouldn’t be able to function. Headaches would continue for 4 to 6 weeks and residual headaches made it hard to concentrate. I saw an internist who wanted me to take anti-seizure medication. I took drugs including Motrin, none of which helped, and I tried to let it ride out. Western medicine is not successful in treating trigeminal neuralgia.

On January 18, 2005, I came to the Natural Medicine Center. I was in a lot of pain and was led here one day for a reason. I have always believed in complimentary or alternative medicine, and I knew that I was going to get relief. I was impressed because the clinic has a warm and friendly atmosphere with relaxing music and hot tea.

I was given acupuncture, herbs and nutrition. The treatments are relaxing and gives you hope. After the first treatment, I received 80% relief and now it is completely resolved. For 4½ years, I suffered from chronic diarrhea. I was always healthy and never got sick until the diarrhea. It started after the dentist gave me antibiotics for swollen gums. For 37 years, since I was 7 years old, I have had this problem of chronic urinary tract infections. I felt depressed due to the symptoms. Because the burning was intense, I would limit going out especially during the summer or when the weather was hot, which aggravated symptoms. I was not able to go out or eat certain foods because I would get the infection. If I did not drink water I would get it too.

I suffered from extreme depression, moodiness and anxiety. I had a lack of desire for living and I wanted nothing to do with life itself. I felt like a zombie. I was crying and upset, and I felt lost. I was afraid, fearful and devastated.

I had heard about acupuncture and I prayed about it. On May 5, 2006, I came to the Natural Medicine Center in hopes to feel normal again. I received a lot of support from my husband and family. I began treatments consisting of acupuncture and herbal medicine. The clinic is professional and I knew that I was being treated by the best.

I suffered from eczema and dermatitis of the hands for many years. I had swelling and water blisters and I could not move my fingers. For a long time, I suffered with Acid Reflux, but in May of 2006, I became very ill. I went to my medical doctor and he prescribed Protonix, which I took for 8 months with no results or feeling better. In this time, I still suffered from the Acid Reflux and in March 2007 it got worse and I started vomiting.

In April 2007, my daughter mentioned to me that many people at her church had visited the Natural Medicine Center and highly recommended Dr. Kevin Huang. In April, I decided to go in and see what he could do. I started treatment with the teas and the acupuncture that day. He also started treatment on me for my high blood pressure, high cholesterol and hot flashes. I suffered every night for approximately 10 years from these hot flashes that would wake me up 2 to 3 times a night. I noticed a difference with all my problems by the 3rd week of treatment.

It is now December 2007 and I feel a thousand times better, with much more energy, my blood pressure is controlled and my cholesterol is normal. My stomach is much better. I follow my diet and I’m a very good patient with sticking it. All the staff are very attentive and the Natural Medicine Center is very cordial. Thanks to God and Dr. Kevin I feel like a new person.

Since May, 2007, I suffered from emotional problems - anxiety and depression. I was depressed most of the time and I had a lot of anxiety. I was not sleeping well and suffered from insomnia. Within a month after coming for treatments, I felt better. I have more energy and I am able to work again. I am able to be around my family and I am back to myself. My body feels cleaner and healthier. Everyone notices that I have more energy and that I am willing to be around them. The combination of both the acupuncture and herbs works better. I feel good about the results.

The staff at Natural Medicine Center is professional and they made me feel comfortable. If I were to have any other problems in the future, I would come here first and get treatment.
