At 5 I was diagnosed with Asthma and have dealt with it ever since. My seasonal allergies triggered asthma attacks. At the young age of 5, I wasn’t completely aware but my parents were upset, but they still placed their faith in God – my ultimate Healer. I have been hospitalized and had many sinus infections and constant seasonal struggle with allergies. Breathing was difficult; affecting exercise and playing as a child - with allergies, runny nose, stuffy nose, itchy eyes, sinus infections and scratchy throat. My allergies limited my time I spent outside. I couldn’t go camping with friends and I had to monitor my exercise. I saw many Physicians from 1998 to present; tried holistic medicine and Chiropractic care. I took a lot of drugs with their unwanted side effects. I took Allegra-D, Flonase, Prednisone, Advair, Symbicort, Pro-air and rescue inhalers. The Prednisone caused weight gain and the Pro-air caused shaking hands. I began taking these medications in 1998 and they only give me temporary relief of symptoms. I saw some benefits but not totally and was completely unsatisfied.

I searched for alternative medicine on the internet and found Natural Medicine Center. I believed in natural medicine and hoped to find relief that wasn’t temporary from my symptoms. I started treatments on May 1, 2012. My family and friends were very supportive. My family has always wanted to see me walk in total healing. My first impression of the clinic is that it’s neat, clean, professional, serene, peaceful and friendly staff. I received acupuncture, herbal medicine with nutrition and dietary guidelines. Our son Sawyer had a very healthy first year of life. After turning one year old he started having all sorts of recurrent colds and sinus trouble. This led into long bouts of coughing with labored breathing which was very very scary and exhausting for him. We tried all sorts of sinus medications, breathing treatments, and inhalers. While he would improve for a while, it was never more than a month before he started all over again with sickness.

While our pediatrician suggested that we keep him on allergy medicine and inhalers indefinitely, with the hope he would grow out of it, we knew that this was not God’s best for Sawyer. We took him to Dr. Huang in faith. The results of the exam were shocking. Sawyers immune system was as low as it could get and his lungs and other systems were not functioning well at all. 10 years ago I was diagnosed with allergies and 4 years ago I was diagnosed with liver and kidney conditions. When I found out, I was both mad and sad. The illness limited me a lot and affected my work, home and social life. There were many places I wanted to go but could not. I had heartburn and a bloated stomach. The MD prescribed medications for me, and I had surgery for my allergies. I was taking Prednisone, Ibuprofen (800mg), Zyrtec, Singulair, Pravastatin Sodium, Proair, Fluticasone Propionate Nasal Spray, Neilmed Sinus Rinse and antibiotics. I was on these drugs and treatments for 10 years - from 2002 until July 2012. It was a temporary fix and it led to damage of my liver and kidneys.

My cousin recommended me to Natural Medicine Center and I started treatments with acupuncture and herbs on July 14, 2012. I have had severe migraines for over 19 years, which started when I was 10 years old. My migraines came frequently and I have suffered so much pain for all those years. Every time I would have my migraine attack my left eye would hurt so bad, unbearably, and I would keep on vomiting for days which would sometimes make me dehydrated. Most doctors of course prescribed the usual medications, saying that there is no cure, only pain management, and most recently I have had to make several trip to urgent care.

Trying to trace the “triggers” of my migraines has been nearly impossible. When I am outside in the hot weather, my migraine comes, when inside the house with cool temperature my migraine comes. In the mall, in the theater, at church attending mass my migraine would come.

I feel as though I have died a thousand times in pain from these migraines. They have been so debilitating, causing me to have to lock myself in a dark and quiet room, and yet still having so much pain and constantly vomiting. I am a naturally active and hard working person and so this illness also causes me to suffer from depression as it restricts most aspects of my activities.

A few months ago a friend of mine suggested that I try acupuncture as it is able to treat many illnesses. Although we were somewhat skeptical my husband and I began a search to find an acupuncturist that we were comfortable with when we came across Dr. Huang’s Natural Medicine website in July of 2012, and were impressed, and made an appointment right away.

Every time we went in, we had so many questions for Dr. Huang, and he was always so patient and kind in answering us. He even took phone calls (so many calls!), and always understood our concerns. Just over a month of acupuncture, taking herbs and eating the foods Dr. Huang suggested, her rash was fading and her ankles were normal. She took blood tests and her thyroid level was normal for the first time in a year! No medications were necessary. Her iron was also normal even after stopping iron supplements-just changes in diet and getting her system healthy with acupuncture and herbs. Her low white blood cell count showed that she was still fighting the virus, which was also apparent as her energy was still low, and so we continued treatment. She slowly got back into working out with volleyball, but had to take it easy. In two and a half months, she would be leaving to the university where she would play volleyball. I was afraid she would need more time to heal after all her body had been going through, but Dr. Huang believed he could get her healthy by then.

Her next blood test was another month later, and at that point her cholesterol was down to
147. It went down over 50 points even after Dr. Huang had her add organic beef to her diet to help her iron. I asked him how it could be over 200 when she was practically a vegetarian and yet drop so much when she started eating beef. Dr. Huang explained that acupuncture and herbs were helping her liver function properly, which is a greater factor in cholesterol than just diet. The fact that my daughter was feeling better told me acupuncture was working, but seeing the blood tests was proof that it was really healing her inside. The patch of hair she had lost also started growing back, and her tonsils were getting smaller than they'd been in a year.

My 17-year-old daughter is an accomplished athlete who competes at a high level. At 16 she started having some health issues. Her blood tests showed that she had hyperthyroidism. Doctors wanted to put her on medication that would ultimately force her to be on medication for the rest of her life. We knew she was too young and otherwise healthy to do that, so we took her to a natural doctor who put her on vitamins to help her health improve.

About a year later, she lost a small patch of hair and we went back to the natural doctor to see what might have caused that. He took blood tests again and her thyroid was still hyper. Also her iron was low and he said she was anemic. She was often tired, but we thought it was from all the volleyball training. So she started taking iron to see if that would improve things. Strangely, her cholesterol was also high (over 200) even though she was practically a vegetarian. And her tonsils were always swollen.

After a few weeks on the iron, she came home from a volleyball tournament with swollen ankles. She thought she had double sprained ankles. Within a couple days, a dark red rash showed up on her ankles and spread up her legs to her knees. We took her to a dermatologist and he said it looked like an autoimmune response. At that point, she was also feeling really weak and she could barely walk with her swollen ankles. My husband researched her symptoms and we realized there was no known Western cure for what she was experiencing. There was only thyroid medication and steroids to reduce the symptoms, but nothing to actually heal her. So we looked up non-Western approaches to treating an autoimmune disorder, and we found Dr. Huang.

We went in scared and confused, watching our strong, healthy daughter in such a weak state. Dr. Huang seemed so confident that he could help her. He believed she had a virus (probably Epstein Bar) and her body had been fighting it since she first started not feeling well a year before. That was why her tonsils were always swollen. The virus finally took over and the autoimmune response was her immune system over-fighting until it actually attacked her own body.

In the beginning of treatment, her hands also started to swell and the rash looked like it was tying to come through on her arms, but acupuncture seemed to keep it from breaking out the way her legs did. And he did with acupuncture and herbs, I also got better.

Dr. Huang is a wonderful healer, and he is also a genuinely good man. He always keeps such a positive, encouraging attitude. He is unlike any doctor I've been to before, and I think it's because he finds such joy in what he does. He loves to heal people and he truly honors God with his good work. Also, the staff at the office is always so friendly and kind, and they are just as pleasant and helpful on the phone. It's a pleasure to see them each time we go in. We are grateful to have found all the good people at Agape Acupuncture, and we feel so blessed that we were led to this special doctor who healed our daughter.

In August 2010, I was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and it spread to my liver. In September 2010 I had surgery to remove the tumor. My eyes were yellow. I felt like I was hit by a train at 200 mph and this illness changed my life completely. It affected my state of mind knowing that the outcome for 95% of the people with this same disease die within the first year. I was a very active person with interests for doing different things. It was like someone came and extinguished my light for life. I no longer had an interest to keep going forward. In October 2010 I had Whipple surgery (also known as pancreaticoduodenectomy - this procedure involves removal of the head of the pancreas next to the first part of the small intestine. It also involves removal of the duodenum, a portion of the common bile duct, gallbladder, and a portion of the stomach. Surgeons then reconnect the remaining intestine, bile duct, and pancreas.) From April 2011 – August 2012 I was put on chemotherapy. The side effects from Chemotherapy were numbness in my feet, nausea, and sores in my mouth. It was really bad and painful. The Chemotherapy was supposed to wipe out the tumor but it grew.

Two years ago, I came to see Dr. Kevin Huang. But I was skeptical and didn’t trust natural medicine, so I decided to do the Whipple surgery and Chemotherapy instead. The drugs and surgeries failed and my cancer went from Stage 1 to Stage 3 and it spread to the liver. From May 2012 to August 2012, CT Scan report and scientific instruments showed that the tumor grew, and it was now attached to the artery. The tumor was life-threatening and inoperable. On August 23, 2012, I decided to come back to Dr. Huang and start acupuncture treatments and herbs. I came because I knew someone with a tumor in her pancreas and she had received acupuncture and her tumor shrank 17 ml. I stopped Chemotherapy completely and was on natural medicine only from August 2012 to October 2012. I went to Natural Medicine Center a few years ago due to low hormone. Prior to visiting Dr. Huang, my OBGY doctor always prescribed me the hormone replacement medicine or external hormone cream to use. His opinion is that they will have more benefit for me instead of harming my body. Actually I never go to fill out any of the prescriptions. All my surrounding friends or relatives do not use either of them. Of course I am skeptical about breast cancer side effect. I was at the stage of causing myself bleeding if I did not do anything for myself.

With the warning of bleeding, one day God made me to read the ad at Huntington Beach local newspaper. I made first visit and talked with Dr. Huang. I was diagnosed with eczema and migraine headaches at 13 years old. I suffered with this condition for 9 years and felt nervous that it would effect my skin my whole life. The headaches limited me where I could not go to work. The migraine headaches caused extreme nausea, and I was very light and sound sensitive. It caused me to be sick and it was hard to talk with people or focus on anything. The eczema made my skin extremely itchy. I could not wear clothes that I wanted. I had sleeplessness at night from the irritation and it bothered me daily at work.

In May 2012, I was diagnosed with Colon Rectal Cancer. I was depressed and very sad when I found out the diagnosis. I had to stop working and I had weakness and nervousness. My bowel movements were abnormal and I lost more than 30 lbs in three weeks. I also had 3 operations in 3 weeks. I had a colonoscopy in June 2012. A tumor was found and it was cancerous. I had an ultrasound to find out what stage it was; it was Stage I. A second tumor was found behind it; that tumor was Stage III and it was breaking through my lymph nodes. I had one session of chemotherapy in August 2012. I also tried home remedies. I had a rectal operation to remove the cancerous tumor. I had a second operation to remove the second tumor that was going into my lymph nodes. The chemotherapy only made me weaker and more depressed and I couldn’t have radiation or more chemo due to an infection in the incision.

I started coming to Agape Acupuncture, Inc. in July 30, 2012. My wife saw the clinic on the internet and we read some of the testimonies of how it helped other people. WOW! June 2012 I was diagnosed with Chronic Congestion and Allergies. It was something I had to deal with and I had no idea how it developed. As a child I had allergies and as an adult I had them during the spring time for a week or two. Every morning when I woke up, I would need to cough up some phlegm, and I got tired of having to do that. I saw my G.P. and he recommended me to see an allergist. Our 4 years old son started having stomach pains. We went to a doctor and was given antibiotics for a week. When the pain did not go away, we did x-ray and ultrasound. The diagnosis was constipation without obstruction. For several weeks, we changed his diet, gave him supplements to help him go. He would go 2-3x a day with good amount but the pain remained. We went to see different doctors and a gastro pediatrician but they have no answers except to put him in Miralax everyday.

I suffered from a rash on the stomach, which was red in color. There was itching and I was worried about the rash. At 14 years of age, I started getting migraine headaches. At that time, I really did not understand - I just knew I had pain. I had family members who also suffered from this: my mother, her sister, my maternal grandmother, and on my father’s side two of his sisters. I experienced a little halo before my eyes, as it progressed a little flash of light and then I would lose my peripheral vision. The headaches affected everything, and it got to the point I was bed ridden. When my migraines come on, I would have to seclude myself in a dark room (no light) and certain odors made it worse. I saw a Neurologist who prescribed shots and prescription drugs such as Imitrex, a muscle relaxer, medication for nausea and a few others ones. I also had biofeedback therapy. From 1988 to 2011 the treatments just treated the symptoms and not the problem. I suffered from a lifetime of headaches and saw 15 medical doctors with no success.

I was looking for something other than what I was having to take - something that worked with no aftermath. On June 11, 2012 I started acupuncture, herbs and dietary guidelines with Dr. Kevin Huang at Agape Acupuncture, Inc. The office is different but educational. It is not your customary doctor office. I really did not understand natural medicine and I was uneducated about it so I really did not have any expectations. After the delivery of our first child, I was unable to urinate. I left the hospital with a catheter and it was 10 days, 7 catheters later before I could urinate on my own. When I did, I had a tremendous amount of pain each time, as if I had a urinary tract infection. I struggled with this for 3 years.

Overall I consider myself a very healthy person, but for four months, I suffered from right elbow pain. There was lots of pain at various times, and it affected my home, work and social life. Since I slipped and fell over one year ago, my neck was in pain and my range of motion was getting worse. I thought eventually the pain and stiffness would go away.
